Eddie my 1302ls cabrio has turquoise metallic paint (95B) and is a vw colour - although mines been resprayed at some time, but its still the original colour. Have a look here for the colour charts and info on how to identify the car http://www.1302super.com/page7.html but you've probably already found that.
Not sure about the insurance value for the car - look at some of the local vw mags and go on a value of a similar car for sale - as this should reflect the current 'market' value. Agreed value usually needs some sort of independent verification from a reputable trade or club representative, and photographic proof of condition.
Send me a few photos if you wish - glad to help.

Subject: [1302 eGroup] please help me find out about my 1302
hi,
I am Eddie and I live in Germany. I have recently aquired a LHD
VW Beetle (1302 I believe) flat screen automatic from 1972. I have
been tinkering with it and have got it almost to roadworthy
condition - still requires extensive cutting and welding after
previous poor attempt to cover rust spots. A colegue has informed me
that it is however 99% original and therefore I have decided to keep
it. I need to know if the turquoise colour is a VW Original and what
value to insure it for. I have some photos if someone would please
verify model from them I will e-mail them to their address.
Any information would be a bonus as I am new to the VW world but have
enjoyed renovating my beetle with the help of a haynes manual and a
good sense of humour.
