RE: [1302 eGroup] overheating problem

Probably a faulty oil pressure switch. Did you change that?
If not do it & see if that makes a difference

Subject: [1302 eGroup] overheating problem

Hi everyone.

I am having overheating problems with my stock 1600 engine. When I
drive my superbug, "Junior", for about an hour or so, the oil warning
light (I believe it's also known as the "idiot" light) starts to
flicker. The light however goes off each time I rev the engine.

The fan seems to be in good working order and the engine tin wares
are all complete. I had even gone to the extent of having the engine
opened 2 times already to check and re-check the oil pump, the engine
case and oil passageways, as well as the oil cooler, but we still
couldn't find the trouble!

Please help!

Charlie

Mark, Thanks for your thoughts, Mark but actually, we already checked that too. Seemed to be in good working order. Besides, I really suspect that the engine...

Charlie, When you split the case did you check all the main bearing journals, Crank end-float, etc? I wonder if your bearings are worn giving you low oil...

Yes, Mark. In fact, while the engine was apart, we decided to just overhaul the thing and replaced the bearings and all, even though some of these parts still...
