Hello Beetle People,

I'm a fellow beetle fan, and I'm looking to buy my first classic
beetle. I was wondering if there's anyone who could give me advice
on where I can find classic beetles for sale in the UK ( I already
looked at the classified section of the VolksWorld web site, which
seem to have some good deals ), and what to watch out for in general.

I don't have a particular model in mind, but would like the vehicle
to be in good condition ( although I realise that I will have to
spend some time under the bonnet ).

I'm also a bit concerned about not being able to buy leaded petrol,
and I was wondering what are the alternatives ( I heard that lead
replacement petrol is not always easy to find ). Is it best to buy a
beetle which already runs on unleaded?

Thanks!

George

George, You will be looking for a car older than 1968. £2K would be a good budget for a car of this age. With regard to the engine size, the only cars that...

As I remember the lead is to lubricate the vlave guides. Look for a beetle that has new valve guides that are unleded gas resistant. I cannot remember what...
