When i first bought my 71 1302 SB I call her Beetle
Juice, she would shake @ 45mph, Fortunately, my
brother is quiet the bug expert and we checked out the
steering bar, but luckily my problem was that the
tires had molded to the form of the ground because she
had sat up for about a jear. We just drive her now and
the shake is alot better.

I have just bought a 1971 1302 Super Beetle, but when driven over 80 mph its steering wheel is starting to shake. It seams that the problem is in arm bushings....

bushings probably but check wheel balance first and alignments, everything on front end has to be correct so go for cheapest fix first! veskovici...

Definitely balance the wheels first - and if the tyres are old or the car has been sitting for a while - replace the tyres. 'Arm bushings - which arm & which...
