You can use electronic ignition in your car.
First option: On some shop the electronic kit for
Beetle is available, you just by and install replacing
the contact point one.
Second option: You by electronic delco of suitable
modern car, modify the leg (removing the leg from the
your contact point delco and installing on new delco)
so that you can install in your car.
The electronic ignition has higher energy so you must
readjust the gap of igniton plug to 0,9 to 1 mm (this
gap on contact point delco is only 0,6-0,8 mmm).
