While your motor is out – Check the valves – never easier – and if you have a single carburetor, you could take off the inlet manifolds and clean them especially the pre-heater pipes from the exhaust to try and keep them flowing, they usually have a lit of carbon deposits.  If you do take the inlet manifolds off – there are some rubber seals – make certain they are in good condition or you have some new ones or you will have air leaks which are a big problem

And how is Serbia – cold???

Subject: [1302 eGroup] pull motor out

Hi  to all,

Just to share my experience with you. I had a serious problem with front suspension on my Super 1971.  The problem is now solved since I have ordered a control arm bushing kit from MidAmerica Motorworks which I have installed in place. It cost about 24 USD + 29 USD for shipment (I am from Serbia). Anyway there was no alterative since those small urethane parts are not available here. So, now I have very smooth ride with my Super. On this weekend I will pull the motor out to change clutch disc, release bearing, and some seal on the motor (main seal maybe?).

Any suggestions ??

Have the flywheel turned to surface it at your local machine shop. You will be taking it off to replace the main seal anyway. valves and inlets and sparkplugs...
