Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I was hoping that some of you more informed folks could help us out.
My wife and I recently purchased a 71' Beetle, the first three vin
numbers are " 111 ", however, from information that I am gathering now,
it seems as though it may be a SuperBeetle.
What options/differences are there between the two? I read: shocks on
a Beetle - struts on a SuperBeetle; spare tire up on it's end for a
Beetle - spare tire flat horizontally for a SuperBeetle.
I have also read that there are vertical openings in the front lower
valance below the front bumper on a SuperBeetle, and that a SuperBeetle
has two sets of 5 Vertical Openings on the rear engine cover. Finally,
that a regular Beetle did not have a rear defrost.
Is any of this acurate? What are your findings? Help? Thank You.
