Since your comments I have researched using a Type 4 engine, and
there is a whole lot oin the net about it ie

but one things tsops this as far as I am concerned - you have to cut
teh body work to get the wider engine in, an then fabricate a rear
mount. So no - too difficult to fix if anything goes wrong.
So back to a mofied Type 1.
I am thinking of something like the 1758 (?) pidtns and barrels but
with a long stroke crank, to keep the cooling safe.
Any ideas?
