But - you say this car is OK except for the underneath. I advise you to check. Apart from the cost and relative difficulty of replacing the special reinforced sills (rockers I think you call them in the US), which then usually leads onto the special fillets between the A pillar and the sill and the B and the sill.
Then - if the sills need replacing It is extremely likely that the doors need work, and these are very expensive to obtain panels for.
I rebuilt a 1302 which was good enough to pass the German TUV (the fitness for road test) which is one of the hardest, we ran it in the UK for 3 years and 12,000 miles - but it still cost me over £6,000 in parts alone to rebuild.
Take a real good look.
