Hi I'm from El Salvador, I own a 72 yellow 1302s, 10 years ago the leaded
fuel was replaced in my country, since the we use only unleaded. I haven't
noticed any loss in the performance of the engine although I changed all
the pistons of the engine a year ago, but it was due to the age of the old
engine.
VW suggested in the owners manual to use a minimum 91 octane fuel, I
personally recomennd to use premium fuel, here that kind has 98 oct.
There'll be no problem with unleaded, I have used both, don't worry abou
that, remember that our cars were built to last!
