FULL LISTINGS SECTIONS A-C ONLY:
A. FUNDING / COMMISSIONS / PLATFORMS / CALLS FOR ARTISTS
A.1 INVITATION to ARTISTS: Duckie's EuroShame 2006
Duckie is inviting artists to collaborate on their annual Gay Shame event,
this year titled EuroShame 2006 at the Coronet in London on Saturday 1st
July.
We are returning to the holding form we invented for Gay Shame 2004. It is
set up as an indoor fairground or market place with artists running
individual Œstalls¹ in the venue. This set is designed by Robin Whitmore
and will house booth type spaces of various sizes for each artists
installation.
The brief is for artists to invent an interactive activity that audience
members can participate in. The theme is EuroShame. Each artist is asked
to choose a European country to theme their installation around.
The mood of the project is playful, satirical and light hearted. The
installations should contain some sort of audience interaction that is
ideally quick and inventive.
Even though the event is called Gay Shame, and most of the punters are
homos, the installations do not have to be about sexuality - and, as always,
straight as well as gay artists are very much encouraged to work on the
event. Mixed bills are always the best for Duckie.
