Artsadmin Bursaries: Round 10
Application deadline: 28th March 2007
Artsadmin’s Bursary Scheme offers bursaries to UK-based artists working in contemporary performance practice. Round 10 of the scheme seeks to support artistic experiment, speculation and play – without emphasis on outcomes or expectation of finished works.
This year, Artsadmin is offering ten bursaries through two strands:
1. Roaming: non studio-based ‘journeys’
This strand of the bursary scheme focuses on supporting practice outside of a studio context. It is intended for artists who do not necessarily identify with working within a studio, and for artists who have a strong notion of a journey they would like to undertake which relates directly to their work. The identified ‘journey’ might be physical, experiential, or metaphorical. It is open to artists working in contemporary performance practice, to artists working alone or in collaboration, and to artists at all stages of their careers.
7 roaming bursaries of £3,000 each are available.
This is a financial award made to the artist(s), and managed by them in liaison with Artsadmin. The bursary period will run from July 2007 – June 2008.
2. Residencies at Toynbee Studios
Artsadmin’s refurbished and accessible building houses 5 studio spaces and a 300-seat theatre. The residency strand of the bursary scheme is open to application by artists who would like to work at Toynbee Studios for a period, whose practice would benefit from consolidated studio time, working alone or in collaboration, and who have an identified area of research or exploration they are passionate to pursue.
3 residency bursaries of £3,000 each plus £2,000 worth of studio space are available.
The £3,000 financial award is made to the artist(s) and is managed by them in liaison with Artsadmin. The additional £2,000 worth of studio space is for use between July 2007 and June 2008.
