Over the last year Movement artist Simon Whitehead and Sound artist Barnaby Oliver have been working simultaneously from their local rivers: the Afon Dulais in Abercych, west Wales and Maribyrnong River in Melbourne, Australia. Although a few thousand miles apart they have shared an intention to meet at a particular time each week and approach their rivers as an unbroken global body of water through which they correspond.
PINGS has been driven by the desire of two people living at distance to explore the physical space between them through Performance and Sound.
This unedited material (recorded in video, sound and image) continues to be shared through the net and snail mail on www.untitledstates.net
