Hi,
1) I have just completed a chassis for a Collett 2251 class loco and am
ready to commence painting it. The final loco livery will be BR black.
I am aware that the GWR painted the inside of the chassis red (outside
black) to easily identify if the chassis developed cracks. Did BR continue
this practice?
2) The Belpaire firebox for this loco has been assembled from the 4
whitemetal parts supplied (It is an old Oakville kit). However the mating
surfaces are not as good as I would like and need to resort to filler to
satisfactorily fill in the joints. What filler would the group members use
in this situation? Would this be a 'fine' or superfine' type filler?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
John
