Re: [7mm] LB&SCR Loco Kit

Fred,
Ashchurch? Stratford? Where are they - France? At least that could be spared
insults as using air brakes.
Andy

Welcome as there do not seem to be many similarly educated and inclined on this
forum!
I am now well on the way with an Albion Stroudley D1 kit. "In the cupboard" are
waiting another Albion D1, E1 and E6 plus two Eric Underhill/Vulcan Terriers.
The Albion kits are all etched brass and nickel silver with whitemetal and
lost-wax brass details. The instructions are rather "thin" so I find photo's,
reference books, etc invaluable. The Vulcan Terrier has an etched chassis with
whitemetal main body parts and lost-wax small details. I am sure it is far more
detailed than the Roxey one which came from another creator. I am not sure if
Adrian Swain of ABS can supply the Vulcan kit at present following his recent
illness, but you could try writing to him. Brighton loco kits are also produced
by Ace Locomotive Kits - I have seen finished examples which were super, but the
builder said they were something of a challenge! The MSC range of loco kits is
now owned or marketed by Meteor Models and includes several tank loco's. I know
nothing of the
quality or construction, but am sure an e-mail will bring details. I started
with the Albion kits as I knew the 4mm versions were well thought of. I am
writing detailed notes when building the D1 (as B612 in 1929) and will probably
upload the file when I have finished it. I have also built some wagons and
passenger stock.
If I can help any further on or off group, please ask.
Andy Mullins
