Armour are pretty vulnerable to Tau weapons so watch that. Mass weapons teams are better against them (heavy bolters + harder stuff for the "suits").

Good job you're not up against the Necrotyr!

I believe this will be a larger battle...the last 2 were 500 points each...I just finished my Baneblade and I am thinking we are doing 1000 points a piece...if so I will take that and my armored company set up for 500 points. The Orks die fast under the battering of my basilisks, and I have some lascannon for the 'Nids.

The Tau will be perhaps your greatest opponent. Remember to fight to your strengths... greater fire power, but watch there mobility.

WE were victorious the weekend and fought off the Tyranid counter
attack. The Carnifex went down to the massive fire from our many
lascannon. We now have the option to attack back into Pennsylvania,
where we will also encounter Orks and Tau, or to advance onto Montana,
where there is no opposition. What say you all, where do we go next?

I am indeed thinking of the Lictor...when they're just so...ORGANIC...I forget sometimes, its just all wrong as far as I'm concerned.

Now I recall, a Carnifex is a plasma throwing abomination. I seem to remember that Demolisher Cannons deal with them quite well.

We didn't get our butts kicked we took out a load of the scum before the Carnifex had his way with the Basilisks. The trouble was getting hard hitting weapons with 500 points to do so. This next fight will be mostly low AP weapons and I will take the head of the wretched Carnifex this time.

I believe it was a detachment from Pacificus that was defeated and not one of the Europa Companies, you remember Pacificus Companies tradition for greater use of tank support and heavy weapons, what Trooper Mordred mentions means they neglected to obtain sufficient armour and arms for there duties from my brethren of the Machine God.

The conversion is just a few pieces of sheet that fit onto the G36, a
magwel converter to get it to feed from the Armalite style mags and an
after market stock made by G&P, though that has been discontinued at
the moment.

As for the Las Carbine, I think thats just down to some guys going for
the G36C to mount their conversion on and others the G36K,
incidentally, that choice wouldent be open to a SCAR based Lasgun, the
only difference is barrel Length and mag size.

Cost wise, RSOV do a few different G36's between £35 and £50, and the
SCAR's from £48 to £65.

If you are doing a Kasrkin Hellgun, dont forget the power cable from
the hotshot back pack to the mag.

IMHO, A SCAR would make a reasonable Lasgun, simply remove the RIS
rails and add detailing like imperial Aquilea and power settings.

How much did your stock cost? The only place I've seen them in the uk were asking 80 quid (which is what I paid for the G36).

Mordred(sniper, deep in the forests of Wisconsin). The 9th has been
brought into the battle to destroy the toasters(necrons) from the US
continent. Currently our area of operation is Alaska, British
Columbia, Idaho and New Jersey. Our first order of business is to hit
the Teranids that have aligned with the toasters to the west of our
Jersey holding. We are in suppoert for a Dark Angels unit in
Washington State and Oregon, ant the 109 Imperial Guard Armored
division in Texas and Arizona. I will keep everyone posted as to Our
progress and i will do my best to keep the name of Scarovar in the
highest graces of the Emperor.

Once my finances are better I may get a short SCAR and see what I can do with it on this vein. Being a Adeptus Mechanicus, means I've got a bit more leeway.

UMP - I thought about these as well but was put off by the narrow magazines.

It was decided that the G36 should be the 9th's Lasgun quite a while
ago(infact before I joined the group). So one of the other guys will
have to explain that, though the Commissar did say a main point was
that a SCAR would always look like a SCAR.

Well, I might be able to make the 24th at woodland but I can't promise as much depends on how much money I'll have left at that late stage of the month.
