For those a bit new to the toxic plant issue: Please check the
references provided. Just because a plant is on the list DOES NOT mean it can't
be used around animals. You'll see that some - including the maples (I checked)
- are there because some people are allergic or the hairs on the leaves are a
bit irritating. When negotiating plant use with vets and Curators, I find it
helpful to have good and complete info.
