Hi Steve,
The following group of plants have been grown with some success in
Kangaroo/Wallaby enclosures or are growing untouched in parts of the Zoo
that is subjected to heavy possum grazing. We have Brush and Ring tail
possums in plague proportions at Melbourne Zoo. All are south east
Australian plants and occur in Zone 9 in Australia. I assume this is the
same as Zone 9 in the US. All grow in full sun and some will tolerate shade.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Subject: [AZH] Red Kangaroo exhibit plants/browse question
Greetings to all,
We are currently building a red kangaroo/wallaby/emu exhibit that will have
primarily Florida native plants with some Australian plants mixed
throughout. I am looking for Zone 9 plants that have been successful in red
kangaroo exhibits. Our new exhibit will be about ¾ acre and currently has
live oaks and sabal palms, but no ground covers to speak of, so we are
looking for full shade to full sun recommendations.
Thank you, Steve
