RE: {Blocked Content} RE: [AZH] Faux boulders and tree stumps

I agree with Rob.  The first stone work done inside our facility was okay.  The second job done by the same company different artisan was much better.  Mo Morris was the lead on the last work we had Larson perform.

I've seen great work from many companies and awful blobs from the same
companies. Sadly, alot depends on what quality work your budget can afford.
The fabricators themselves move from company to company, so the people who
were at Larson when Missouri Bot. Garden was done have probably since moved
through five other companies since then. Larger, older firms such as Larson,
Cemrock, COST, etc. will deliver what's promised usually on time and on
budget because they know how to run their business. Some fabricators have
gone off on their own and can under-bid their old employers. But many zoos
have had bad experiences with them being able to responsibly run the job.
Maybe someone on our discussion group can suggest a firm that they're
working with today (or within the past year) who impressed them and show you
what they did?

Why not ask several companies to bid on it and provide examples of the
quality of work they propose delivering for that bid? That way you'll be
more certain of comparing faux-apple trees to faux-apple trees.  On the
AZA.org website, under "Commercial Members" you can select "Exhibits" and
get descriptions of many firms with links to websites and all contact info.

We used the Larson Company out of Arizona to do our faux rocks and tree
stumps.  It was 14 years ago, I don't know if they're still around, but they
did excellent work.

Hi Everyone,
Looking for contacts specializing in faux boulders and tree stumps.  I found
a couple online, but curious if anyone has specific companies that do good
work.  Thanks for any input.  Happy New Year!
