Virginia Creeper - Toxicity   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1667 of 1993 |
While our native birds love the berries on Virginia Creeper, the
berries are also considered toxic to mammals. Since the berries are
generally palatable to mammals, does it pose a real health concern to
wild canids, ursids and felids?

This vine grows wild locally and because of its drought tolerant
nature, I would like to introduce it around some enclosures and fence
structures. Even if I don't put it directly in an enclosure, I know it
is likely to find its way there.

Thank you for your insight.

-Vanessa
