Sayyidina Ali (kr) said, "Loving the scholars is a form of worship."
An Arab poet once said, "Be like the men of Allah, for you are not
like them but in the mere resemblance of them lies a great success."
Verily the scholars are the heirs of the Prophets.
The family of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam),
Muslim Scholars, Hadeeth Scientists, and the entire Muslim Ummah have
lost one of its great scholars, the honorable and learned scholar of
Islam, an heir of the Prophets, the Hadeeth specialist, the Bukhari
of this era, head of the Supreme Council of Scholars of Tangier in
Morocco, The Grand Mufti, The Waliyy of Allah, The Faqeeh, Al-Usuli,
the Linguist, the Muffasser, Al-Hafidh Sayyed Ibrahim bin Muhammad
bin Siddiq bin Ahmad Al-Ghumari Al-Hasani (Rahimahu Allah).
Brief Biography** of Al Hafidh Assayyed Ibrahim Al-Ghumari (Rahimahu
Allah):
From his father's side, Sayyed Ibrahim (ra) is a direct
descendant of
the noble Prophet Muhammad (saw), thorough Al-Hasan (rd), son of Ali
(kr) and the Lady Fatima (rd).
On his mother's side, he is a direct descendant of the great
scholar,
Ahmad Ibn Ajiba (ra). Ibn Ajiba (ra) is known for his wide knowledge
and application of it, he is a Shareef from Imam Hasan's family. May
Allah bless their souls.
Sayyed Ibrahim (ra) memorized the entire Quran from a very young age,
and mastered nearly all the Islamic Sciences at the feet of his noble
and blessed father and brothers; along with other great scholars of
Morocco. It was in Fes, Morocco, that Sayyed Ibrahim (ra) graduated
from the Kairoiuin University.
Sayyed Ibrahim is a son to the Imam of his time Sidi Muhammad bin
Assidiq, who was the most globally known Hadeeth Scholar on earth in
the late 1800's and mid 1900's. Sidi Muhammad had six children, all
of which are authority in the science of Hadeeth, and are the flag
bearers of Ahlus Sunnah in the world. All of them passed away, except
Sidi Hasan, may Allah protect him and guide us to benefit from his
vast knowledge.
Al-Hafidh As-Sayyed Ibrahim was one of the leading Hadeeth
specialists in Morocco, serving for a long time as the Imam of the
Jamia Masjid in Tangiers. He also headed the Supreme Council of
scholars there.
Amongst the teachers he studied with were:
Ø His blessed and noble father, the Hafidh Al-Hadeeth, one
of
the greatest scholars of his time, As-Sayyed Muhammad bin Siddiq bin
Ahmad Al-Ghumari (ra).
Ø His blessed and noble brother, the Hafidh Al-Hadeeth, the
light of the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah, As-Sayyed Ahmad bin Muhammad
bin Siddiq bin Ahmad Al-Ghumari (ra).
Ø His blessed and noble brother, the Hafidh Al-Hadeeth, a
diamond from Allah, a sign from Allah, the light of the west and
east, As-Sayyed Abd-Allah bin Muhammad bin Siddiq bin Ahmad Al-
Ghumari (ra).
Ø His blessed and noble brother, the great authority in
Hadeeth, As-Sayyed Zamzamy bin Muhammad bin Siddiq bin Ahmad Al-
Ghumari (ra).
Ø His blessed and noble brother, the great scholar of
Hadeeth,
Sayyed Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad bin Siddiq bin Ahmad Al-Ghumari (ra).
Ø His blessed and noble brother, a jewel from Allah, the
great
Hadeeth scholar, Hafidh Sayyed Hasan bin Muhammad bin Siddiq bin
Ahmad Al-Ghumari Hafidahu- Allah; May Allah preserve him and grant
him a long and healthier life Ameen, Thuma Ameen.
Above are the main teachers of Sayyed Ibrahim (ra). There are
literally 100's of scholars where Sayyed Al-Hafedh Ibrahim studied,
and he, Radiyallahu Anhu, gave permissions (Ijaza) to many leading
Hadeeth authorities in the world to transmit Hadeeth through him.
Sayyed Muhammad bin Yahya Al-Ninowy Al-Husayni recounts his last
visit to Sayyed Ibrahim, "when I was at his house last year, his
health was deteriorating rapidly and he had a hard time even talking.
yet he, Radiyallahu Anhu, would not let me carry his groceries, and
often insisted on me getting married. Everytime I asked him, may
Allah bless his soul, Sidi is there anything you want? he always
replied: make du'a for me. Every second I spent with Sidi Ibrahim,
Sidi Abd-Allah will be deeply missed."
May Allah grant Shaykh wa Sayyidi Ibrahim (ra) the highest rank in
paradise, and assemble him and us with him at the basin of his
grandfather The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam). May
Allah (swt) illuminate his grave with the perfumes and flowers of
paradise, and may Allah (swt) give us all patience at this time of
distress.
