Biography

Al-Habib Kazim Ja`far Muhammad al-Saqqaf was born in Tarim, Hadramaut
in the year 1960. He was taught the Qur'an and other Islamic
disciplines by his eminent teachers at the famous school of Qur'anic
Literacy and Memorisation Abu Murayyim and the prestigious school of
classical learning the Ribat of Tarim. After graduating from the two
aforementioned institutions, he continued his studies at the hands of
some of the most qualified scholars and teachers of Tarim.

He thereafter travelled in search of knowledge to the northern Yemeni
city of Bayda, registering at the famous Ribat of Bayda where he was
blessed to study with some of the greatest scholars of recent times
such as al-Habib Muhammad b. Abd-Allah al-Haddar, al-Habib Ibrahim b.
Aqil b. Yahya and al-Habib Zain b. Sumait.

He then returned to Tarim were he continued his studies as well as
embarking upon the continual task of da`wah. He was appointed the
principal and head teacher of the Ribat of Shihr, occupying that post
for the next six years, thereafter transferring to the Ribat of
Mukalla once again as principal and head teacher for a further two
years.

He has taught internationally in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman,
the UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

He currently teaches at the prestigious Islamic institute Dar
al-Mustafa in Tarim as well as sitting on the Council for Legal
Verdicts at the same establishment. He is also extremely active in all
parts of Hadramaut, regularly lecturing and participating in
conferences.

about his position of Muawiyyah and those who curse him, the Grand Muhadith of

I hope you read this in the best of health and Iman.

I have recently just returned back from Morocco where I attended the
Maulid of Sayyed Muhammad bin as Siddiq al Ghumari (rad) at the
Zawiyyah in Tangiers which was revived by Shaykh Ahmad after three
years.  I also had the honor of meeting our Shaykh al Hafidh Sidi
Hasan bin as Siddiq al Ghumari (May Allah continue to preserve him
and allow us to continue to benefit from his Nur and Ilm).

Anyway while I was with Sidi Hasan also present was Shaykh Ahmad
Darwish who I personally call Khadim of Sidi Abdullah (rad) which
Sidi Abdullah (rad) also confirmed in his own autobiography.  Shaykh
Ahmad is a person of great blessings which is a direct result of the
great work and services he did for Sidi Abdullah (rad) and which he
continues to do till this day on allah.com.

While we were with Sidi Hasan, he invited Shaykh Ahmad and his wife
and ourselves for a special feast, this is something Sidi Hasan does
not do due to his poor health, however due to the blessings of
Shaykh Ahmad we were given the great honor of not only sitting with
Sidi Hasan for over 5 hours but also eating with him and drinking
beautiful Moroccan tea from the House of this great Wali.

While we were sitting with al Muhadith, Dr Sidi Muhammad Ali bin
Hasan bin As Siddiq al Ghumari (may Allah preserve him), Sidi Hasan
came in and said directly to Shaykh Ahmad that he expressed his
intention of coming to visit him (Shaykh Ahmad) in Cairo.  Sidi
Hasan continued to come in and out and continued to say noble and
honorable things to Shaykh Ahmad.

Shaykh Ahmad requested me to record some questions asked to Sidi
Hasan in regards to allot of things people attribute to the Ghumari
Masters.

This recording is with me and Inshallah we will very soon publish in
a documentary about the Ghumari Masters.  Everyone is welcome to
come and see it Inshallah.

The three questions asked by Shaykh Ahmad were as following,

Shaykh Ahmad: "Do you yourself curse Muawiyyah"?
Sidi Hasan: "NO"

Shaykh Ahmad: "Did Sidi Abdullah (rad) used curse Muawiyyah?
Sidi Hasan: "NO"

Shaykh Ahmad: "Did Sidi Ahmad al Ghumari curse Muawiyah frequently
everyday"
Sidi Hasan: "No, this would be stupidity"

I ask everybody to continue to pray for the good health of our
Shaykh, the last of the Ghumari Masters alive today.

And yes this is Muhammad Umar alBudally from Rochdale.

Also officially late but not forgotten congratulations to Shaykh
Muhammad bin Yahya al Ninowy for the birth of his first child, we
ask Allah to preserve the child and bless the child. Ameen. .

nor did his two deceased brothers:  Abdullah and Ahmed.  It seems to
claim that a certain Shaykh Umar from Manchester has this recording.

  If it is Br. Muhammad Umar Budally - can he please post this up for us
to view it as I recall that a Wahhabi by the name of Muhammad Bu Khubza
(who was once a student of Shaykh Ahmed al-Ghumari's) claimed that the
Ghumari brothers all had bad opinions about Sayyidina Mu'awiya ibn Abi
Sufyan (ra).
