Sayed Shaykh Qirtam 49 years old vs. Ninowy 41

(PLEASE SPKIP READING: IF YOU FAILED IN BASIC MATH,WHILE ALLAH TAUGHT
MATH AND SCHOLAR OF HADITH USE IT TO REVEAL THE LIARS)

http://www.alalbait.ps/

When Sayed Qirtam refers to Hafiz Abdullah and
Hafiz Abdel Aziz he refers to both Hafiz as
"Teacher of our Teachers" while Ninowy says I accompined them! Who
saying the truth, you judge

PS. Ninowy legally is not Ninowy in his
passport and bank account (no w no y)

Please read Sayed Shaykh Qirtam bios

is 48 years old and was born in 1380h/1960 the
year Hafiz Ahmad Ben Siddique passed away.
Sayed Qirtam has more credibility, in the
Ghumari science, ethics and students of all
ages (than Ninowy born 1967/41 years old). When
Sayed Qirtam refers to Hafiz Abdullah and Hafiz
Abdel Aziz he refers to both Hafiz as
"Teacher of our Teachers"
"Teacher of our Teachers"
"Teacher of our Teachers"
read it here in Arabic:
http://www.dahsha.com/viewarticle.php?id=2198
"Teacher of our Teachers"
(arabic here in the article)
"Teacher of our Teachers"
while NInowy says he accompanied both Hafiz
Ahmed and Hafiz Abdullah (I do know why he
missed Hafiz Abdel Aziz - maybe because his
children are alive who would refute Ninowy
should he dare to do so)
By the way
1. Shaykh Darwish read Muwatta of Imam Malik
with Hafiz Abdullah in his Zawia in Tangier
2. Shaykh Mamdouh Saied read the Muwtta with
Hafiz Abdel Aziz
3. Sayed Qirtam studied with the students of
Hafiz Abdel Aziz and somewhat with him at the
end of his life
4. Could Ninowy tell what he studied and when
and who else saw or shared with him the class
Ninowys CLAIMS he studied with:
he took? SEE BELOW CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS AFTER HIS PATTERN WITH TWO
SCHOLARS WE KNOW
he took? SEE BELOW CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS AFTER HIS PATTERN WITH TWO

DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY THE TOTAL OF VOLUMES OF BOOKS BELOW ARE
AND HOW MANY YEARS TO READ THEM? LET ALONE STUDING THEM?

Bismillah

Assalaamu 'Alaykum,

Insha Allah, I humbly request this Ninowy bashing to stop.
There is a wrong and right way to enjoin the right and forbid the indecent.
Surely, the ones who are pointing out the reported errs and deviations of al-Ninowy are doing so in a erring and deviated way.

I humbly suggest people learn how to talk before they start talking.

On a side note, belief in the Twelve Imams of the Ahlul-Bayt, of which Ninowy is claimed to believe in when, is not necessarily and only from Rafidi's as stated by some.

The renovator of the Naqshbandi Tariqat Shaykh Ahmed Sirhindi (rahmatullah alayh] believed in these Imams and believed them to be the Qutb al-Aqtaab as did Shah Waliullah [rahmatullah alayh], as did the renovator of the Rifai Tariqa Sayyid Muhammad Mehdi al-Rawwas [rahmatullah alayh], and his star student Sayyid Abu al-Huda al-Sayyadi [rahmatullah alayh] who was the advisor to one of the last Ottoman Sultans Shaykh Abd al-Hamid. This is just a sample but people need to be more learned when they talk about learning.

Allah alone gives success.

Wassalaam,

Omar

AT LAST THE UNDISPUTABLE PROOF THAT NINOWY ACCOMPANIED BOTH HAFIZ
AHMAD AND ABDULLAH, OUR APPOLOGY, SMILE! OR SCREAM

In the year 1379h/1959 Hafiz Abdullah Ben Siddique published this book on
faith by Baihaqi - see dates scanned original pre-computer pages on
the title
-page.

http://www.al-mostafa.info/data/arabic/depot2/gap.php?file=014048.pdf

Incidentaly 1379h/1959 is a year before his brother Hafiz Ahmad passed
away in
1380h/1960 as per tomb stone verifies. Darwish was 8 years old. Ninowy's
mother had not even married his father. It is truly amazing that Ninowy
claimed he accompanied Hafiz Ahmad and also studied with Hafiz
Abdullah around
1987, this makes Ninowy 68 years old while his passport shows he was
born in
1967! SHORT OF 27 YEARS! HAHAHA
This 68 years old could only be believed if:
1. Ninowy was born in 1940
2. Since many people born in 1940 and never met the Hafiz. Therefore
even if
this is hyperthetically the case, it would still have to be proved
3. Hafiz Abdullah never mentioned Ninowy in his biography as he mentioned
others such as Ahmad Darwish
4. *Or* at least Ninowy has to have math-deficient-followers. In this case
there is no obligation on any of them to look any further, just
*continue* to
follow him and be better followers send *ALL* the money you have to his
account in USA! Do not forget to examine and smear anyone (as their
Pakistani
interviewer did in Youtube) who dares to say anything different even
if it can
be proved as per the third page of the above book Hafiz Abdullah
printed in
1959

Re: 10 characteristics of destruction found in Ninowy and his students

THIS IS A FACT SHEET, NOTHING PERSONAL, ASK YOUR HEART
WHEN YOU REVEAL THE LIARS IT IS NOT AN ATTACK, RATHER IT IS AN OBLIGATION
SPECIALLY WHEN ASSOCIATED WITH PURE HADITH SCHOLARS SUCH AS SIDI HAFIZ
ABDULLAH BEN SIDDIQUE AND HIS TEACHER AND BROTHER SIDI HAFIZ AHMED BEN
SIDDIQUE

Ninowy/Ninou Date sheet
6 years at home as a baby
6 yaers primary secular school in Syria
3 years secular school in Syria
3 years secular high school in Syria
= 18 years MAKE NOTE OF THIS
8 years in South America STUDIED AND MARRIED A MUSLIM CONVERT
= 25/26 YEARS MAKE NOTE OF THIS -BECAUSE SIDI ABDULLAH PASSED AWAY IN
THIS TIME
TODATE HIS AZHAR GRADUATION NEVER COMPLETED, EVN THOUGH IT IS FOR
NON-ARAB LEVEL SINCE NINOWY/NINO REGISTERED AS AN AMERICAN

I Ahmad Darwish and wife Anne-Kahdijah

(we both are 127 years old combined of which 66 year combined serving
Sidi Abdullah and his wife. We also - praise be to Allah - are
founders of Allah.com and Muhammad.com when Ninowy/Ninou was 15 years
old. Please Note that Ninowy/Ninou has at last just backed up from his
claim to our translation work of Imam Nawawi which he kept it in his
name for 4 years ih his site)

We both bear witness that Mr. M.Y. Ninowy (also known as: Michael
Ninou and - officially - Mohammad Ninou) who was born in 1967 in syria
(now 41 years)

1. Ninowy/Ninou claimed that he met Hafiz Ahmed and accompanied him,
so since Hafiz Ahmed passed in 1380h and now we are 1429h that is 49
years ago. If you know simple math go figure

Please note Muhammad Umar has the stone grave marker of Sidi Ahmed pic
with the same date of 1380h

http://www.alghomari.com/aalame_wataragime/ar1.htm

A) That's 9 years before Ninowy/Ninou's birth,

2. Ninowy/Ninou claimed also that he was the student of Zahid Kawthari
who passed away 16 years before the birth of Ninowy/Ninou

3. Ninowy/Ninou claimed to met shaykh Abdullah when I met him, i.e. in
USA etc
I met Sidi Hafiz Abdullah in 1973I that is when Ninowy/Ninou was 6
years old (what a wonder baby) then when Sidi Abdullah came to 1982
Ninowy/Ninou was 15 years NOT a man yet!
and when Sidi Abdullah came with me to UK in 1985 Ninow/Ninou was 18
years old

4.When Hafiz Abdullah passed away in 1993 Ninowy/Ninou was 25/26 did
not yet finished MEDICAL college IN SOUTH AMERICA

5 . Then Ninowy/Ninou has the audacity to claim he studied and
received Imam Nawawi's 1950 hadith and 46660 hadith (then he reduced
the numver to 13000 in a week) from from Hafiz Abdullah and that he
finished commenting on 10,000 chains - not to mention that Suyuti the
source of these hadith had removed the chains etc)

These are Hadith voilations that warrant the term of "Kathib and sariq
al hadith" liar and thief of hadith

6. Imam Ghazali wrote in his Ihyaa 10 characteristics of destruction I
found then in Ninowy and his students, this itself enough for them to
question his validity, if you choose to follow him after these FACTS,
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR: DO NOT GIVE HIM MONEY! AS GHUMARI NEVER TOOK
MONEY FROM STUDENTS
Order to do right actions and avoid wrong actions
Following the footsteps of the Prophet (praise, peace be upon him)
The Invisible Actions
The roots of wrong actions:

Excessive eating
Unnecessary speech
Anger
Envy
Love of US Dollars, foreign and local currency
Love of fame
Love of this material world
Conceit
Pride
Deceit

LIVING WITH GOD

God Is Important In Our Daily Lives, Living Solely With Natural Instinct Is Inadequate.

Fitrah another word for human natural instincts or human needs and these needs, some are important, some are less important. There is only one main need or desire i.e. the need or desire to have God in life. The less important ones are numerous which include the need for love and care, friendships, love for beauty, harmony, peace and serenity and love for good characters such as gentleness, generous, humble, forgiving etc.

Actually, we are able to live in peace and harmony solely with our natural instincts especially when the instincts are still good, undamaged and unpolluted by the surroundings. Following solely on the natural instincts, society could be in peace, harmonious and helping each other as these are natural desires and humans will behave according to their natural desires.

If we are to observe the lifestyles of the aborigines or orang asli living in the forest, they are able to interact among each other and are capable of creating a harmonious and peaceful community solely based on their natural instincts. In other parts of the world there are communities living in peace and harmony. Even though there are judiciary systems to punish the law breakers, in actual fact they are guided by their own social code which have been accepted by everyone in the community. At times, these social codes or ethics has become part of their culture or traditions, unwritten or unrecorded but all members of the community have understood and have become part of their lives.

These social ethics or code are the result from the natural instincts desiring for peace, harmony and serenity in their society. But these are peace from natural instincts, not peace from God. God does not wish for us to have peace and be good solely depending on natural instincts as He wishes for us to be good because of Him. Peace and goodness solely based on natural instincts would not withstand trials and tribulations. A good person based solely on natural instincts when faced with tests, his goodness will diminish and his negative characters will surfaced. An angry and temperamental person, for example, will feel calm and composed in peaceful surroundings. Once he’s under pressure and faced with difficulties, he will be annoyed and be out of control. Someone who is impatient and not in acceptance (redha) appears calm and composed when all his needs are met. But when his needs are limited and he becomes poor, he would be disturbed and disgruntled. He may even give up. And it goes on.

Living with God means God is the essence or core in life. God is the faith and the control.Every aspect of lfe is associated with God. We are relying on God’s strength. Peace, serenity and harmony in the society are all the outcome from love and fear of God. All the desirable characters in an individual are the result of mujahadah (battle with nafs) and self correction urged by the fear of God. When we live with God, it’s easy to feel calm and patient with hardships and tests as we totally depend on God. If in times of hardships and tests we are able to be calm and composed ,what more in times of comfort and wealth.

God is Most Gracious and Most Merciful. He desires Himself to be involved in every single aspects and problems of His servants. It is as if God is disappointed when He is not included in our daily lives and problems. To God, His servants are His belongings. He is the only One most deserving to help and assist His servants. Let us not put God aside but to live with Him.

The Thirteen Attributes of Allah

Every Accountable Person Must Know

Accountable: Pubescent, Sane and Heard the call of Islam

{لَيْسَ
كَمِثْلِهِ
شَىْءٌ
وَهُوَ
السَّمِيعُ
البَصِيرُ}

Ayah means: Nothing is similar to Allah and He is attributed with
Hearing and Sight

Praise be to Allah, and may Allah raise the rank of Prophet Muhammad
and his Al and Companions, and protect his nation from that which he
fears for it. Thereafter:

Allah, the Exalted, said

{وَمَن لَّمْ
يُؤْمِن
بِاللهِ
وَرَسُولِهِ
فَإِنَّا
أَعْتَدْنَا
لِلْكَافِرِ&#1\
610;نَ سَعِيرًا}

which means: For those blasphemers who do not believe in Allah and His
Messenger, We have prepared Hellfire .

It is obligatory to believe in Allah and to know what is permissible
to attribute to Him, what is necessary to be of His attributes, and
what is impossible to be of His attributes. Also, it is obligatory to
believe in the Messenger and to know what is befitting for him, what
is permissible for him and the other prophets, what is necessary to be
of their attributes, and what is impossible to be among their
attributes. It is obligatory to declare these beliefs by the tongue by
uttering The Testification of Faith (Two Shahadahs):

أشهدُ أنْ لا
إلهَ إلاَّ
اللهُ وأشهدُ
أنَّ محمّداً
رسولُ الله

which means: I know, believe and profess no one is God except Allah
and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

The one who does not believe in Allah and His Messenger is a
blasphemer and shall enter Hell eternally. Before proceeding with this
treatise let it be known that the judgments of the mind are three kinds:

· The intellectual necessity: This refers to what the mind
does not conceive its non-existence, i.e., non-existence does not
apply to its self. Allah is the One Whose Existence is necessary,
because the mind does not accept His non-existence, i.e.,
non-existence does not apply to the Self of Allah.

· The intellectual impossibility: This refers to what the mind
does not conceive its existence, i.e., that to which existence does
not apply. The existence of a partner with Allah is an intellectual
impossibility, because existence does not apply to it, i.e., the mind
does not conceive its existence.

· The intellectual possibility: This refers to what the mind
conceives its existence at one time and its non-existence at another
time. This universe and its contents--among what we can see and what
we cannot see--is an intellectual possibility. It is so because the
mind conceives its existence after a state of non-existence. This is
the state of the entire universe. For example, Allah made the human
being exist after having been non-existent, and then this human being
shall be annihilated (Annihilation of humans is by complete death,
which is defined as the soul completely departing the body. The souls
do not annihilate and some bodies do not decay in the soil.) This is
why the human being's existence is among the intellectual possibilities.

Allah, ta^ala, said

{وَللهِ
الْمَثَلُ
الأَعْلَىَ}

which means: Allah has attributes that do not resemble the attributes
of others .

It is obligatory to believe the attributes of Allah are confirmed to
Him. He who negates them is called an atheist. Hence, the one who does
not believe in the Existence of Allah, i.e., the one who negates
Allah's attribute of Existence is called an atheist.

The attributes of Allah that are obligatory to believe in are
confirmed to Him. They are not the Self of Allah nor other than the
Self of Allah. Rather, we say they are attributes with which Allah is
attributed and they are religiously and intellectually obligatory for
Him. Imam an-Nasafiyy said: "His attributes are not Him nor other than
Him."

The attributes of Allah that every pubescent and sane Muslim is
obliged to know are called the attributes of the Self of Allah and
Allah is not attributed with their opposites. They are thirteen
attributes; the scholars established by consensus he who is ignorant
of them is a committer of an enormous sin (fasiq).

These thirteen (13) attributes are: Existence (al-Wujud), Oneness
(al-Wahdaniyyah), Eternity (al-Qidam), Everlastingness (al-Baqa'),
Non-neediness of others (al-Qiyamu bin-Nafs), Non-resemblance to the
creatures (al-mukhalafatu lil-hawadith), Power (al-Qudrah), Will
(al-Iradah), Knowledge (al-^Ilm), Life (al-Hayah), Hearing (as-Sam^),
Sight (al-Basar), and Speech (al-Kalam).

1- Existence (al-Wujud): It is obligatory to believe in the Existence
of Allah. Allah said:

{أَفِي اللهِ
شَكٌّ}

which means: [There is no doubt in the Existence of Allah.] Hence, it
is obligatory to believe in the Existence of Allah. It is an eternal
and everlasting attribute. Allah exists without a beginning, without
an ending, and without a place.

2- Oneness (al-Wahdaniyyah): It is obligatory to believe Allah is One
without a partner. Allah said:

{فَاعْلَمْ
أَنَّهُ لا
إِلَهَ
إِلاَّ اللهُ
وَاسْتَغْفِ&#1\
585;ْ لِذَنبِكَ}

which means: [Know that no one is God except Allah.] Allah is One in
His Self, Attributes, and Doings--hence Allah has no equal. So we say,
for example: "Allah is the Creator and no one is a creator except
Allah". Allah is One but not as in numbers, because numbers are
created. Rather, He is One in that there is no partner with Him.

3- Eternity (al-Qidam): It is obligatory to believe Allah is Eternal,
i.e., there is no beginning to His Existence. His attributes are also
eternal. Nothing is eternal except Allah and His attributes.

4- Everlastingness (al-Baqa'): It is obligatory to believe Allah is
everlasting i.e., His Existence does not end. His Existence is
everlasting and His attributes are everlasting. There is nothing
everlasting in itself except Allah, because annihilation does not
apply to His Self. However, Paradise and Hell are everlasting because
Allah willed their everlastingness. Hence, they are everlasting--not
in their selves--but because of other than their selves. This is why
they are among the intellectual possibilities, and they are part of
this universe. Allah said:

{هُوَ
الأَوَّلُ
وَالآخِرُ }

which means: [Allah is the Eternal, without a beginning, and the
Everlasting, without an ending.]

5- Non-neediness of others (al-Qiyamu bin-Nafs): Allah said:

{اللهُ
الصَّمَدُ}

which means: [Allah is the Master Who is resorted to in one's needs.]
Allah does not need anything. He does not need one to give Him
existence because He exists without a beginning. Also, He does not
need one to specify Him with Knowledge, instead of ignorance, or other
than that among His Attributes, because His attributes exist without a
beginning.

6- Non-Resemblance to the Creation (al-Mukhalafatu lil-hawadith):
Allah does not resemble any of His creatures--neither in His Self nor
in His Attributes nor in His Doings. Allah said:

{لَيْسَ
كَمِثْلِهِ
شَىْءٌ
وَهُوَ
السَّمِيعُ
البَصِيرُ}

which means: [Absolutely there is nothing like Him.] Imam Abu Hanifah
said: "The Creator does not resemble His creatures."

7- Power (al-Qudrah): It is obligatory to believe Allah is attributed
with Power, which is defined as an eternal and everlasting attribute
of Allah related to giving existence to and annihilating what is
intellectually possible. Allah said:

{إِنَّ اللهَ
عَلَى كُلِّ
شَىْءٍ
قَدِيرٌ}

which means: [Allah has the Power over everything.] That is, Allah's
Power relates to all things that are intellectually possible. Hence,
the Power of Allah is not related to the intellectually necessary
neither in creating nor annihilating, because annihilation does not
apply to it in the first place. The power of Allah is not related to
the intellectually impossible neither in creating nor annihilating
because existence in the first place does not apply to that which is
intellectually impossible. The fact that the power of Allah is not
related to the intellectually necessary and the intellectually
impossible is not powerlessness, but rather indicates the perfection
of Allah. Also, this fact conforms to the judgment of the mind: the
intellectually impossible does not turn into an intellectual
possibility, and the intellectually necessary does not turn into an
intellectual possibility. The Power of Allah is related to the normal
impossibilities. For example, although the existence of a sea of
mercury is an intellectual possibility, it does not occur, and the
Power of Allah is related to it.

8- Will (al-`Iradah): It is obligatory to believe Allah is attributed
with Will. It is defined as an eternal and everlasting attribute by
which Allah specifies the creatures who are intellectual possibilities
with some attributes among what is possible for them. An example is
specifying a green colored board with green instead of other possible
colors. There is no difference in that regard between good and evil,
blasphemy and belief, winning and losing, and other opposites among
what is intellectually possible.

9- Knowledge (al-^Ilm): It is obligatory to believe Allah is
attributed with Knowledge. This is an eternal and everlasting
attribute of His Self. Allah knows eternally about His Self,
attributes, and what He creates. Nothing is absent from His Knowledge.

10- Life (al-Hayah): It is obligatory to believe Allah is attributed
with Life. Allah said:

{اللهُ لاَ
إِلَهَ
إِلاَّ هُوَ
الْحَيُّ
الْقَيُّومُ}

which means: [There is no God but Allah, and He is attributed with
Life, and His existence does not end.] Life is an eternal and
everlasting attribute of Allah. The Life of Allah is not like our
life, because our life needs a combination of body and soul; however,
the Life of Allah is His attribute.

11- Hearing (as-Sam^): It is obligatory to believe Allah is attributed
with Hearing. This is an eternal and everlasting attribute of Allah
with which Allah hears all things that are hearable. There is no
difference between what is near to us and what is far from us because
Allah is not in a place. He hears without an ear, without means, and
without instruments. His hearing is not subject to weakening nor
change because weakness and change are non-befitting to Allah. Allah said:

{وَهُوَ
السَّمِيعُ
البَصِير}

which means: [He is the One attributed with Hearing and Sight.]

12- Sight (al-Basar): It is obligatory to believe Allah is attributed
with Sight. This is an eternal and everlasting attribute of Allah with
which He sees all things that are seeable, without an instrument and
without means. He sees the things that are far away from us and those
that are near to us without any difference because Allah is not in a
place. His attribute of Sight does not change or develop, because the
One whose Self is eternal does not develop or change. Allah's
attributes are eternal and do not develop or change.

13- Speech (al-Kalam) : It is obligatory to believe Allah is
attributed with Speech (Kalam). This is an eternal and everlasting
attribute with which Allah orders, forbids, and informs. It is not a
letter nor a sound nor a language. The Qur'an and the other revealed
Books are expressions of the eternal Kalam of the Self of Allah. When
we write the word "Allah" it is an expression of the Self of Allah.
Likewise, the words and sentences of the revealed Books are
expressions of the Kalam of Allah. The Qur'an is called the Kalam of
Allah because it is not authored by Prophet Muhammad or Angel Jibril.
The Qur'an is also used to mean the eternal Kalam of the Self of
Allah. Allah said:

{وَكَلَّمَ
اللهُ مُوسَى
تَكْلِيمًا}

which means: [Allah spoke to Musa with His eternal Kalam] i.e., Allah
created in Prophet Musa the ability to hear the Kalam of the Self of
Allah, which is not a letter nor a sound.

and Allah knows best

Allah is the Creator of This World

Allah, ta^ala, said in the Qur'an:
أَفِي اللّهِ
شَكٌّ

Afi-llahi shakk.

Ayah 10 of Surah Ibrahim means: {There is no doubt about the existence
of Allah.}

The first obligation on the mukallaf person is to know about Allah,
ta^ala. Allah is the Creator of all the existent things and is the One
Who manages all the creation. If, with our sound mind, we carefully
think about all the creations and ponder about their existence, we
must know that they have a Creator Who created them.

The mental proof that Allah exists:

With the sound mind, we know irrefutably that every writing has to
have a writer, the act of hitting has to have a hitter, and that a
building has to have a builder. Therefore, it follows that this
universe with all the creations in it has to have a creator Who is
Alive, attributed with Will, Knowledge, and Power, and this is Allah.
He is clear of all imperfections. He is the One Who does not resemble
any of His creations, and nothing resembles Him. The sound mind does
not accept the existence of an action without someone who carried it out.

It is not conceivable for nature to be the Creator, because nature has
no will. So, how would nature create? It is also not permissible for
something to create itself. Finally, something cannot create something
that resembles it.

For example, the child is born small; he does not talk or walk. Then
he develops. He starts gradually and slowly to talk and walk. Then he
matures and becomes a young man, then middle-aged, then old, after
which he dies. Who changed him and transformed him from one state to
another? Allah is the One Who created and changed him, and willed for
him to die.

A story of a man who denied the existence of Allah:

It is related that a man who denied the existence of the Creator came
once to one of the caliphs and told him: "The scholars of your time
say that there is a creator for this universe, and I am prepared to
prove to them that this universe has no creator."

The caliph sent for one of the top scholars telling him of the man's
claim and ordering him to come. The scholar was purposely late; then
he came. The caliph welcomed him and seated him in the center of the
session. Present at this meeting were many scholars and important
people. So the man said: "Why were you late in your arrival?" The
scholar said: "What if I tell you that a very strange matter occurred
to me, and because of it I was late? My house is behind the river of
Dijlah (Tigris). I came to cross the river, but I did not find
anything other than an old boat with broken planks. When my gaze fell
onto it, the planks moved, came together, and reassembled so that the
boat became seaworthy. All this happened without the work of a
carpenter or a worker. I sat in it, crossed the river, and came to
this place."

The man said: "O people, listen to what your scholar says. Have you
heard anything more absurd than this? How can a boat exist without a
carpenter to build it? This is an explicit lie."

The scholar said: "O blasphemer, if the mind does not accept the
existence of a boat without a builder or carpenter, then how do you
say that this entire universe exists without a creator?" The man
became silent. He was refuted. The caliph punished him because of his
bad beliefs.

The Oneness of Allah

Allah, ta^ala said in the Qur'an:

لَيْسَ
كَمِثْلِهِ
شَيْءٌ
Laysa kamithlihi shay'.

Ayah 11 of Suratush-Shura means: {Nothing resembles Him (Allah) in any
way.}

This means that Allah, ta^ala, does not resemble any of His creations.

It was related that a group of Jews came to the Prophet, sallallahu
^alayhi wa sallam, and said: "O Muhammad, describe to us your Lord
Whom you worship." Then Suratul-Ikhlas was revealed, and Prophet
Muhammad said, "This is the description of my Lord."

The questioning of the Jews was with the intent of mockery and not to
seek the knowledge.

The answer of the Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, indicates
that Allah is attributed with attributes, and just as Allah Himself
does not resemble His creation, His Attributes do not resemble the
attributes of the creation. Allah is attributed with all the proper
perfection, and He is clear from all the attributes of imperfection.

Allah, ta^ala, said in the Qur'an:

وَلِلّهِ
الْمَثَلُ
الأَعْلَىَ

Wa lillahil-mathalul-a^la.

Ayah 60 of Suratun-Nahl means: {Allah has the perfect Attributes that
are not similar to the attributes of others.} Everything other than
Allah is created (i.e., this entire universe).

Allah is the only One attributed with Eternity. That is, Allah has no
beginning and likewise His Attributes are eternal, without a
beginning. The attributes of other than Allah are created; they change
from one state to another. Allah is clear of change. He is the One Who
creates changes in His creations, but He does not change. He is the
One Who creates development in His creations, but He does not develop.

It is helpful to look at the following phrases to understand this
subject of Tawhid (Creed).

Allah is Eternal; He has no beginning.

All the creations have a beginning. Allah created them.

Allah is Everlasting; He has no end.

It is mentally possible for all the creation to end.

The Attributes of Allah are eternal and everlasting; they have no
beginning or end.

The attributes of the creation are created. They have a beginning and
it is mentally possible for them to end.

The Attributes of Allah do not change, develop, or transform, because
those processes belong to the attributes of the creation.

The attributes of the creation change, develop, and transform from one
state to another, because Allah is their Creator.

Allah is the Creator of the world and what is in it. He is the Creator
of good and evil. He is the Creator of the actions of the slaves, and
He is their Sustainer.

The creations do not create good or evil. They do not create any of
their actions. The one who cuts an apple is not able to put it back
together as it was.

Allah is One with no partners to Him. He is One in His Self,
Attributes, and Actions.

The creations are of many different shapes and colors. Even the same
kind of fruit can be either sweet or sour. Yet the creations still
resemble each other in many aspects.

Allah is not a body; He does not have a size, and does not occupy space.

The creations have sizes and places in which they reside.

Allah does not need the creation.

The creations are in need of their Creator; they are in need of Allah.

Allah is the only One Who deserves to be worshipped. No one is God but He.

The creations do not deserve to be worshipped, because they are weak
and are in need of their Creator.

Imam al-Junayd, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "Tawhid is to
differentiate between the Eternal and the created."

The Attributes of Allah

The scholars said that it is obligatory upon every mukallaf to know
thirteen Attributes of Allah. They are: Existence, Oneness, Eternity,
Everlastingness, Non-neediness of others, Power, Will, Knowledge,
Hearing, Sight, Life, Speech, and Non-resemblance to the creation. The
explanation of these attributes is as follows:

    1.

Existence: It is obligatory to believe that Allah exists and
that there is no doubt in His Existence. He exists without a place.
Time does not lapse on Allah.
    2.

Oneness: Allah is One without any partners. He is One in His
Self, His Attributes, and His Actions.
    3.

Eternity: Allah is Eternal; there is no beginning to His
Existence. He has existed since before the creation.
    4.

Everlastingness: Allah is Everlasting; His existence does not
come to an end. He does not perish.
    5.

Non-neediness of others: Allah does not need any of His
creations and they are all in need of Him.
    6.

Power: Allah has Power over everything.
    7.

Will: Everything that occurs in this world is by the Will of Allah.
    8.

Knowledge: Allah knows about all things before they occur.
    9.

Hearing: Allah hears all what is hearable, without an ear or any
other organ.
   10.

Sight: Allah sees all what is seeable, without a pupil or any
other organ.
   11.

Life: Allah is alive without a soul, skin, or heart. His Life is
not similar to ours. He is alive and does not die.
   12.

Speech: Allah's Speech is without a tongue or lip. His Speech is
not in a language, Arabic or anything else. His Speech does not
resemble the speech of the humans.
   13.

Non-resemblance to the creations: Allah does not resemble the
creations.

The First Creation: Water

When Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, was asked how
this universe started to exist, he said: "Allah existed [eternally]
and nothing else existed with Him. He created the ^Arsh (Throne) [and
placed it] above the water. Then He [ordered the Pen to] write in the
(Guarded) Tablet everything that would happen. Then Allah created the
heavens and Earth." (Related by al-Bukhariyy.)

The Prophet answered this question by first stating that Allah's
Existence does not have a beginning, i.e., He is Eternal. There is no
one attributed with eternity other than Him. In other words, nothing
existed eternally except Allah, and Allah created everything, i.e., He
brought all the creation from non-existence into existence.

Allah, ta^ala, did not create all the creations at one time. Had He
willed for this, it would have occurred. Rather, in six days, He
created the heavens and Earth; and for Earth Allah created rivers,
mountains, and valleys. The wisdom of this is to teach us not to be
hasty in doing things.

The first creation is water. The Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa
sallam, said:

إِنَّ اللهَ
تَعَالَى
خَلَقَ كُلَّ
شَيْءٍ مِنَ
الْمَاءِ

Innallaha ta^ala khalaqa kulla shay'im minal-ma'.

Which means: "Allah created everything from water." (Related by Ibn
Hibban.)

This also means that Allah created water before creating light,
darkness, Earth, the heavens, the Throne, or the Guarded Tablet. Allah
made water the origin for other creations. He created the Throne from
water. Then He created the Upper Pen, then the Guarded Tablet. After
these creations, Allah created the rest of the creations: the Earth,
heavens, animals, mountains, trees, and rivers. Adam, peace be upon
him, was of the last kind of creation, humans.

The (^Arsh) Throne: It is a platform with four pillars; it is the
largest of Allah's creations. It is also the ceiling of Paradise.

The Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, said:

مَا
السَّمَوَات&#1\

الْكُرْسِيّ&#1\
616; إِلاَّ
كَحَلَقَةٍ
فِي أَرْضٍ
فَلاَةٍ
وَفَضْلُ
الْعَرْشِ
عَلَى
الْكُرْسِيّ&#1\
616; كَفَضْلِ
الْفَلاَةِ
عَلَى
الْحَلَقَةِ

Mas-samawatus-sab^u fi jambil-Kursiyyi illa kahalqatin fi ardin falah.
Wa fadlul-^Arshi ^alal-Kursiyyi kafadlil-falati ^alal-halqah.

(Related by Ibn Hibban.)

This hadith means that the seven heavens in relation to the Kursiyy
are like a ring in a very big open space. Likewise, the Kursiyy in
relation to the Throne is like a ring in a very big open space. This
indicates the huge size of the Throne, which is now carried by four
(4) huge angels. It takes a fast bird seven hundred (700) years to
cover the distance between the ear lobe and the shoulder of any of
these four angels. On the Day of Judgment eight (8) angels will carry
the Throne.

The Throne is surrounded by angels. It is not a place for Allah,
because Allah is not a body in need of a place.

Imam ^Aliyy, may Allah raise his rank said:

إِنَّ اللهَ

يَتَّخِذْهُ
مَكَاناً
لِذَاتِهِ

Innallaha, ta^ala, khalaqal-^Arsha idh-haral-liqudratihi wa lam
yattakhidh-hu makanal-li Dhatih.

Which means: "Allah created the Throne as an indication of His Power;
He has not taken it as a place for Himself."

What is a Hilal?
The majority of Ulema, including Sh. Uthaimeen (S. Arabia) allow only the naked eye sighting for fixing the first date of the Islamic month.
CFCO Intl. reaffirms its definition of Hilal:
It is a waxing crescent moon seen after the sunset on the 29th or 30th day of the lunar month. The moon should be visible by the naked eye to everyone with normal vision. A moon seen through only by a telescope or binoculars, not followed by a naked eye sighting or seen by one or two witnesses, does not fulfill the Shariah requirement of the visibility, as the Fuqaha stated for the last 1400+ years. For complete authentic and relliable information on Hilal and Moon, please visit www.islamicmoon.com

Khutbah (Sermon) of the Holy Prophet (saws) about Ramadan

'O you who believe, prescribed for you is the Fast, even as it was prescribed for those before you, that haply you will have taqwa.' Qur`an 2:183
'A great month, a blessed month, a month containing a night which is better than a thousand months has approached you people. Allah has appointed the observance of fasting during it as an obligatory duty, and the passing of its nights in prayer as a voluntary practice. If someone draws near to Allah during it with some good act he will be like one who fulfills an obligatory duty in another month, and he who fulfills an obligatory duty in it will be like one who fulfills seventy obligatory duties in some other month. It is the month of endurance, and the reward of endurance is paradise. It is the month of sharing with others, and a month in which the believer's provision is increased. If someone gives one who has been fasting something with which to break his fast it will provide forgiveness of his wrong actions and save him from the Fire, and he will have a reward equal to the fasting man's reward without his reward being diminished in any way... Allah gives this reward to anyone who gives one who has been fasting some milk mixed with water, or a date, or a drink of water with which to break his fast, and anyone who gives a full meal to one who has been fasting will be given a drink by Allah and will not thirst until he enters Paradise. It is a month whose beginning is mercy, whose middle is forgiveness, and whose end is freedom from the Fire. If anyone makes things easy for his slave during it, Allah will forgive him and free him from the Fire.'
From a khutba (sermon) given by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, on the last day of Shaban.
Reported by Salman al-Farsi (Mishkat al Masabih).
Some Hadiths About Ramadan

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: 'Ramadan, a blessed month, has cometo you during which Allah has made it obligatory for you to fast. In it the gates of the Garden are opened, the gates of the Fire are locked, and the rebellious Shaytan is chained. In it Allah has a night which is better than a thousand months. He who is deprived of its good indeed suffered deprivation.'Ahmad and Nasa'i transmitted it.

Every good deed will be rewarded from ten to seven hundred fold except fasting which is endured for My sake and which I shall reward.'Hadith Qudsi, Sahih al-Bukhari

'By Him Who holds my life in His hand the breath of the fasting man's mouth is more fragrant before God and better pleasing to Him than redolent musk.'Sahih Muslim

'Paradise has a gate which is called al-Rayyan through which not one shall enter except those who have observed the fast.'Sahih al-Bukhari

'Two joys are prepared for him who observes the fast, the joy of breaking the fast and that of meeting his Lord.'Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim

Excerpts from the Book of the Mysteries of Fasting from the
Ihya Ulum al-Deen of Imam al-Ghazali
'Praise be to Allah who has shown great favor to His servants, Who has frustrated the hopes and plans of Shaytan by making fasting a bulwark and a shield for His friends.'
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'The reward of the fasting man will be generous beyond imagination or estimate.' And so it should be because fasting belongs to Allah and by virtue of this relationship it has been rendered noble. The fast belongs to Allah in two respects. First because it is a form of desisting and relinquishing, in its very nature concealed from human sight, whereas all the other acts of worship are apparent and exposed to it. And secondly because it is a means of vanquishing the enemy of Allah, Shaytan, who works through the appetites and desires. These appetites and desires are increased by eating and drinking. For this reason the Prophet said, 'Shaytan affects the son of Adam by pervading his blood. Let him therefore make this difficult for Shaytan by means of hunger.' For the same reason he told A'isha, 'Persist in knocking on the door of Paradise.' When she asked what she should knock with he replied, 'With hunger.'
The excellence of fasting established, what follows is a basic description of the outward and inward conditions for fasting.

Outward conditions for fasting
  1. The first outward duty is to watch the beginning of the month of Ramadan and announce it at the observation of the new moon (al-hilal). If clouds make the observation of the new moon impossible then the length of Shaban should be extended to thirty days. By observation we mean actual sighting of the new moon. Anyone who hears a trustworthy witness say that he has seen the new moon and believes him, fasting then becomes incumbent on him.
  2. The second outward duty is intention (niyyah). Every night before the dawn of the following day one should specifically and deliberately entertain the intention of fasting. If he should entertain the intention to fast the month of Ramadan but fails to renew his intention every night his fast would not be valid...
  3. The third duty is that, as long as he remembers that he is fasting, the individual should abstain from intentionally allowing any material substance such as food, drink, snuff and enema, to enter his body... Whatever enters the body unintentionally, such as dust, or water, during the rinsing of the mouth will not invalidate the fast...
  4. The fourth duty is abstinence from sexual intercourse...
  5. The fifth duty is abstinence from deliberate seminal emission.
  6. The sixth outward duty is abstinence from vomiting. If one cannot help it however, his fast remains intact and valid.

                Practices connected with the Fast

  1. Delaying the time of suhur (until near the time of daybreak).
  2. Speeding the breaking of the fast by eating dates or drinking water before performing the prayer.
  3. Generous giving throughout the month.
  4. Special study of the Our' an.
  5. Retreat (i'tikaf) into the mosque, especially during the last ten days of Ramadan (in which the Night of Power, laylat ul-Qadr, falls).

                        Inward conditions of fasting

Fasting is of three grades:
  1. The fasting of the general public (sawm al-umun)
  2. The fasting of the select few (sawm al-khusus)
  3. The fasting of the elite among the select few (sawm kusus al-khusus)
The fasting of the general public involves refraining from satisfying the appetites of the stomach and the appetites of sex and is described in the section on Outward conditions.
The fasting of the select few is to keep the ears, the eyes, the tongue, and hands, the feet and other senses free from wrong actions. It consists of:
  1. Refraining from looking at anything disapproved, or anything which occupies the person and distracts him from remembering Allah.
  2. Keeping the tongue free from raving, lying, backbiting, tale-bearing, obscenity, abusive speech, wrangling and hypocrisy.
  3. Closing the ears to every reprehensible thing because everything which is unlawful to utter is also unlawful to hear.
  4. Restraining the limbs from wrong actions as well as avoiding questionable foods at the breaking of the fast.
  5. Not overeating when breaking the fast.
  6. Remaining in a state of suspense between fear and hope after breaking the fast as to whether or not the fast has been accepted by Allah.
The fast of the elite among the select few is the fast of the heart from mean thoughts and worldly worries and its complete unconcern with anything but Allah and the Last Day, as well as by concern over this world, except insofar as it promotes the deen (life-transaction), which belongs to the hereafter.
Every act of worship is possessed of an outward form and an inner secret, an external husk and internal path. The husks are of different grades and each grade has different layers. It is for you to choose whether to be content with the husk or join the company of the wise and learned.

                                 Breaking the Fast

'A human being has not filled any vessel which is worse than a belly. Enough for the son of Adam are some mouthfuls which keep his back straight, but if there is not escape he should fill it a third with food, a third with drink, and leave a third empty.'
Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah
'Many a one who fasts gets nothing from his fasting but thirst and many a one who prays during the night gets nothing from his night prayers but sleeplessness.'
Tirmidhi
The mercy of the fast of Ramadan penetrates all dimensions of man's existence, providing a holistic cure for all that ails him, rejuvenating the body as well as the spirit of man. Breaking the fast by overeating renders both these beneficial effects useless. And breaking the fast with the wrong foods in any amount will debilitate the one who fasts and make his spiritual efforts more difficult.
Allah exhorts us in the Our' an to eat of the purest foods and the practitioners of modern medicine are just beginning to realize the essential wisdom of this command along with the wisdom of the fast itself. The therapeutic effect of fasting is well documented by actual clinical experience both in Europe and in the United States, leading to general acceptance of the principal that fasting is man's oldest and best healing method. And the kind and amount of food with which one breaks the fast to a large extent determines whether the fast is useful or a waste of time.
The main rule in breaking the fast is to remember why you are fasting and what you hope to obtain by it. There are several du'a [supplications] for breaking the fast which call one back to this reality, one of which is:
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate,
O Allah, for You I have fasted and I have believed in You,
And have broken my fast on Your bounty and so forgive me
my past and present wrong actions.
O Lord of the Worlds.
Bismillahi Rahmani Raheem
Allahumma laka sumtu wa bika aamantu
Wa 'alaa rizqika aftartu faghfirlee
Maa addamtu wa maa akhartu
Ya rabbil aalamen.
One of the sunnas [practices] of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and give him peace, is to break the fast as soon as the Adhan [call to prayer] is heard before performing the Maghrib prayer, with a date and some water.

Ramadan Food Guideline

The rule of thumb of the amount of food to be consumed at the evening meal which follows is that it should be no more than is usually eaten at that time. In fact, if it is, the fast is technically invalid. Again one has to review what one's goal in Ramadan is -- to bury his head deep into a nose-bag full of food every evening after sunset and snore his nights away or to eat a light but nutritious evening meal and use the precious nights of Ramadan for dhikr [remembrance] and fikr [reflection].

The following is a guideline to the types of food which will enhance the natural purifying effect which the fast already has on the body and which will increase the one who incorporates them into his diet in energy, clarity and awareness:
  1. Use as much as possible pure and organic foods, uncontaminated by artificial flavorings, colors, and preservatives.
  2. Avoid eating too much meat too frequently. The Prophet, peace be upon him, ate meat only twice a week. Needless to say it should be halal, but it is also recommended to find a source of free-range animals and to have as close a control as possible over the actual killing.
  3. Include lots of vegetables and raw fruits in your diet.
  4. Avoid overdoses of starches, particularly excessive amounts of polished white rice -- use whole grains when possible and then not too much of them.
  5. Avoid too much sugar and substances containing caffeine -- they will unbalance the delicate endocrine system of the body.
  6. Pay attention to the order in which you eat different foods and the combinations of foods which you eat. The medicine of the Prophet recommends limiting the number of different types of food eaten at one time as much as possible, and latest research has revealed that the reason for this is the stomach's ability to produce different digestive enzymes for different foods. Too many different foods produces confusion.

8 servings 4 hours 1 hour prep
Change to:
1 cup whole dried fava beans
1 cup dried garbanzo beans
2 liters water
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cups onions, minced
1/2 lb lamb, cut in small pieces
2 teaspoons ground turmeric
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons sweet paprika (the best most vibrant you can find)
1/2 teaspoon finely ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon finely ground caraway seeds
3/4 cup tomato paste
1 lemon
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup fresh flat leaf parsley, chopped
1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
1 cup lentils, soaked for 1 hour 1 in cold water and drained
1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
2-3 teaspoons cooking salt
2 cups vermicelli, broken into 1/4-inch pieces
lemon wedges, for serving
A. Rinse and pick over fava beans if you can't get these then use dried broad/lima/butter beans and chickpeas. Soak overnight in water to cover. Quick soak method; place beans in large soup pot and add 2 litres hot water. Bring water to a rolling boil for 5 minutes. Turn off heat and soak beans for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Squeeze each fava bean and chickpea between your thumb and first two fingers to remove skins. Set aside.
  1. In large soup pot over medium heat, cook the onions and meat (chicken can be used as well as beef or no meat at all though NEVER pork) stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and transluscent.
  2. Add turmeric, ginger, paprika and 2 litres water. Cover and bring to rolling boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, add fava beans, chickpeas and cook, covered, until beans are tender. 1 to 1 1/2 hours depending on your beans.
  3. Finely chop together tomatoes, parsley and cilantro. Add this mixture along with the tomato paste, the lentils, pepper, juice of the lemon and drop in 1/2 of the squeezed lemon and salt to taste. Cover and cook until lentils are tender 20 to 25 minutes.
  4. Bring back to the boil and make a fairly thick slurry (flour and water) with the 1/2 cup of flour. Add this to the boiling soup stirring very briskly to avoid lumps. Boil one minute stirring constantly. Add nutmeg and caraway. Bring the soup to medium heat, you just want a nice slow bubbling.
  5. Add pasta (orzo or small soup pasta can be used as well though I always prefer vermecelli) and cook until soft. Taste and add salt to taste and adjust pepper. When soup is heated through, ladle harira into individual soup bowls. Serve immediately with lemon wedges, Moroccan flat bread ("My Rough Khoubz works well) or crusty french baquette. This soup should be velvety, not overly thick.
  6. Prep time does not include soaking the beans.
  7. NB: Harira is eaten all year, not only at Ramadan. In Morocco the nutmeg is ground to a powder which is darker and very pungent. If you cannot find or do your nutmeg this way, then I recommend that you purchase the freshest nutmeg that you can find.

... Sidi Chiker (Safi), Sep. 19 - King Mohammed VI of Morocco, Commander of the Faithful, reiterated his keenness to "shoulder the responsibilities of the Commandership of the Faithful - a mission entrusted to me by the Almighty - particularly those concerning religious affairs."
In a message addressed Friday to the participants of the first session of the Sidi Chiker national gatherings of Sufi partisans, read by Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq, the sovereign underlined "how deeply I care for Sunni Sufism in my capacity as Amir Al-Muminin and Guardian of the Faith."
The king said the Sufi zawiyas, which were set up in towns and villages over the centuries, benefited from these distinctive gatherings and from the spiritual fulfillment characterizing them: "Following in the footsteps of my venerable ancestors, I have shown particular interest in zawiyas. Indeed I greatly value the role played by Moroccan Sufi tariqas in the areas of spiritual guidance and enlightenment, the dissemination of knowledge, development, the defense of the unity and territorial integrity of our homeland, social cohesion and the preservation of the religious identity of Moroccans."
"As for service to the nation, it is accomplished through the observance of your duties and obligations towards the ultimate Imamate, namely the Commandership of the Faithful," he stressed.
According to the sovereign, this requires the need to "preserve the cultural specificities of Morocco and protect them against alien trends and influences. In that way, the conditions required for serenity, peace and security are met."
"I am convinced the exceptional heritage passed on to Sufi followers can be both sustained and regenerated," said the monarch, pointing out that it can be sustained through "the preservation of our core values, of our faith and of our rite; and it can be sustained through loyalty to the Commandership of the Faithful. Sufism can be regenerated through initiatives and the kind of behaviour which enabled zawiya disciples to stay in tune with the times and serve as model citizens, vying with each other to work good deeds."
The king voiced hope this first gathering "will usher in a new era for Sufi followers in Morocco," all the more that Sufism is "one of the characteristic spiritual and ethical components of the Moroccan identity; it is fully consistent with the blessed Sunnah and the pristine Islamic Shariah."

Ramadan Continues to Inspire the Faithful Throughout the Arab World

• Sept 17, 2008 • Results of a 2008 region-wide survey

However, as restaurants and hotels region-wide tout their special Ramadan iftar and suhur promotions, a big majority (67%) also feels that Ramadan is becoming a bit too commercial.
Ramadan Continues to Inspire the Faithful Throughout the Arab World.
Region-wide survey on Ramadan traditions and practices throws up interesting results
An overwhelming 96% of Muslim Arabs are observing the Ramadan fast, 89% view Ramadan as a yearly lesson in self-restraint and discipline, and 71% believe the Holy Month allows them to feel a sense of solidarity and brotherhood with fellow Muslims. However, as restaurants and hotels region-wide tout their special Ramadan iftar and suhur promotions, a big majority (67%) also feels that Ramadan is becoming a bit too commercial.

These were among the findings of an extensive region-wide survey conducted by Maktoob Research on the attitudes and perceptions of the faithful vis-Ea-vis Ramadan traditions and practices. The survey, conducted during the month of August, just prior to the beginning of the holy month, canvassed the opinions of 6,128 adult Muslims from across the Arab world.

Announcing the findings, Tamara Deprez, Director of Maktoob Research, said, "The study throws light on what Ramadan means today to followers of Islam, and how they perceive the customs and practices associated with the Holy Month. The survey's findings show that despite the pace of modern life and the changes in people's lifestyle, the Arab world retains its spiritual essence and remains largely tradition-bound where matters of faith are concerned - more so during the Holy Month of Ramadan."

The Maktoob Research survey threw up several interesting findings; 62% of respondents were of the view that non-Muslims living in Arab countries should not eat or drink in public during Ramadan, while 52% held that all restaurants should be closed during the day - even to non-Muslims - to respect the observance of Ramadan. 74% of respondents said they read the entire Quran during the month of Ramadan, while -- despite the hugely popular Ramadan TV serials -- 43% said that overall, they watch television less often during the Holy Month.

In regards to the methodology employed to determine the commencement of the Holy Month, 62% of respondents favored the time-honored tradition of moon-sighting by the naked eye, although alternative techniques such as declaration by scholars and astronomical calculation also found significant approval. Interestingly, 79% of respondents said they are keen to receive Islamic content on their mobile phones during the month of Ramadan, with Duas, Hadith, prayer timings and Quran verses emerging as the most preferred content choices.

A majority of respondents preferred to celebrate Iftar with family at home, but there were also sizeable enough sections that preferred to break fast alongside friends or by attending a religious ceremony. In other findings, 83% of respondents said they planned to make a special gesture towards family or friends during the month of Ramadan or during Eid-al-Fitr, a majority of them saying the gesture would likely involve giving away of money (Eidyeh).

Surprisingly, all 760 respondents from Morocco replied in the affirmative when asked if they intend to observe fasting during Ramadan this year, whilst 99% of respondents in Oman, KSA, Qatar and Egypt, and 85% of UAE Muslims, said they would take to fasting during the Holy Month.

Praise be to Allah, the most High who has blessed us by sending
Prophet Muhammad, praise and peace be upon him, to us so that we
might be forgiven and guided.

First I would like to introduce myself to you. The name given to me
at birth was Anne Stephens. When I embraced Islam I was honored by
Shaykh Abdullah ben Sadek who gave me the name Khadeijah and
permitted me as his spiritual foster daughter to take his name
Abdullah. Thereafter I became known as Khadeijah Abdullah.

This statement is written in defense of the legitimate reporting of
Hadith and the noble character of Shaykh Abdullah. Its presentation
is supported by facts coupled to their dates and for no other reason
and it is hoped that the followers of Mr. Ninowy might rethink and
reassess their chosen path to Paradise.

Al Hamdulillah, in 1979, at the age of 38, I was blessed to embrace
Islam. At that time Mr. Ninowy was a juvenile of 11 years of age.

I was further blessed to marry my husband Ahmad Darwish who was and
still is dedicated to the transmission of authentic Islamic material
in not only Arabic but also English and specializes in Hadith
transmission. When I say "dedicated", I really mean it. He spends
well over eight hours a day working on his computer. I often go to
bed, wake up for the night prayer and find him still working!

Since the time of our marriage, we worked together seeking the
pleasure of Allah and His Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, to
present this material to our fellow Muslims on the sites Allah
blessed us with Allah.com and Muhammad.com absolutely free of
charge, we ask neither money nor favors in return rather, we ask
Allah for His generous reward. In the back of our minds we remember
the warning of Ahmad ibn Hanbal who cautioned the receivership of
knowledge from those who ask for money or favors in return.

Our life has been enriched and blessed through meeting several good,
sincere people and it has been our practice to avoid the rest of the
universe and get on with the work. However, in recent years we were
tested by an individual by the name of Mr. Ninowy whose contact with
us was first made by phone in the late 1990's when he claimed to
have met Shaykh Abdullah and of course, our hearts immediately
opened to him.

Let me go back a while so as to give you a clear picture of events.

After our marriage, Ahmad and I migrated to America, where he worked
for the Muhammad Islamic Foundation. In 1981, Shaykh Abdullah was
invited by Jabir Muhammad, the manager of Muhammad Ali, the world
champion boxer, to come to Chicago to review the book on which my
husband participated called "Prayer and Al Islam". It was during
that visit that Shaykh Abdullah gave my husband the traditional
Ijaza that connected him to the untarnished chain of narrators. Bear
in mind Mr. Ninowy was only 13 years of age at that time. Shaykh
Abdullah was to return to Chicago again shortly afterwards for an
eye operation. Mr. Ninowy was at that time still in High School in
Syria and did not meet Shaykh Abdullah during either of these
visits..

The translation of Imam Nawai's collection of hadith transmitted by
Shaykh Abdullah to my husband was one of our first translations, and
took several years to translate and it was subsequently reviewed by
Jabir Muhammad. Our first translation being that of the meaning of
the Holy Koran, both of which were then released on our websites,
which was called "The Mosque of the Internet", Al Hamdulillah.

In the mid 1980's (when Mr. Ninowy was still a juvenile) we were
contacted by a fair minded, moral Christian seeking the truth by the
name of Bill McClean who requested permission to present our work on
his interfaith site that presented the great religions of the
world. We gave him permission, and he subsequently produced the
work in PDF form, other media as well as for hand held computers.

However, please pay attention, I had made a mistake in Shaykh
Abdullah's name and typed "Reported by Grand Muhaddith Master
Abdullah Ben SADEL al-Ghumari". It should have read Sadek.
The opening page read on McClean's site:
Reported in Arabic by
Grand Muhaddith Master Abdullah Ben SADEL Al-Ghumari
to Shaykh Ahmad Darwish.
Rendered into English by Anne Khadeijah Darwish
and Shaykh Ahmad Darwish.
Under the auspice of Grand Shaykh, Professor Hasan Qaribullah, Dean
of Umm Durman Islamic University.

This error was discovered and corrected on our own sites but
remained "as is" on Bill McClean's site
http://www.mcleanministries.com/ImamNawawiContents.htm.

In the early 2000's Mr. Ninowy stole this work, from McClean's site
including the error in the name – what a tell-telling clangor - and
first removed my husband's name and left my name. (When we recently
complained to Dr. Muhammad Ali, Mr. Ninowy now turned and removed my
name!) Leaving:
Under the auspice of Grand Shaykh, Professor Hasan Qaribullah, Dean
of Umm Durman Islamic University.

The reference to Prof. Hasan Qaribullah was remained in place since
the mid- 1980's when the work was first published on the internet.
Mr. Ninowy had never met Prof. Hasan, rather it was not until he was
on his death bed in 2004 that Mr. Ninowy visited Prof. Hasan whose
health had deteriorated to the extent that he had reached the state
of semi consciousness and passed away shortly thereafter. For the
record, my husband first met Shaykh Hasan and his honorable father
in 1979. In 1979 he spent the entire month of Ramadan as the guest
of Shaykh Muhammad Al Fatih Qaribullah in Sudan. In 1984 we visited
his sons Prof. Has and Prof. Tayib, in Edinburgh when they were
finalizing their Ph.D).

Incidentally, for the record I only met Mr. Ninowy twice and not one
word of translation transpired between us.

Someone in the Atlanta Masjid raised a complaint and Mr. Ninowy
changed the title page which now read.:
Reported in Arabic by
Grand Muhaddith Master Abdullah Bin SADEL Al-Ghumari (Rahimutullah
Alayh)
To
Shaykh Muhammad bin Yahya Al-Ninowy Al-Husayni
The translation is by Ustada Aisha Bewely. Please feel free to
download. He changed it only in the Medina Atlanta Mosque website,
where he is hired to give jummah and one lesson a week. However, he
left it without our names on his own website which targets the UK
Muslim market-place.

Another deciding truth that proves it is our work is that when
verses from the Koran are quoted in this translation of Imam Nawai's
collection of Hadith, it is our translation of the Koran that is
quoted rather than those of other people!

Let me inform you of the practices of past scholars of Islam. Some
would take the work of others, build on it and enhance its meaning
for a better understanding, there has never been any objection to
this method which is totally different from taking someone's work,
removing their name and blatantly ascribing it oneself.

Mr. Ninowy's actions are classified by Hadith terminology as "Sarek
Al Hadith" which means a rank of theft in hadith, and applies to a
person who steals a hadith, and claims it to be his narration, or
lies about it.

Mr. Ninowy also falsely claimed to have worked with my husband,
Ahmad Darwish, on "Kanz Al Ummal" this is an outright lie. He also
wanted his photograph accompanied by that of my husband to appear on
our web sites, despite the fact that he made zero contribution.

I am staggered that someone who claims to be from the Holy Family
could do such things and set himself up as a spiritual person who
guides others to Allah and His Prophet, praise and peace be upon
him. Believe me, I neither enjoy nor revel in this exposure and
have been quiet about it for several years, contenting myself that
the words of the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, are being
transmitted under any name, but the recent regrettable circumstances
have now prompted me to speak out and warn.

It is not for me to judge Mr. Ninowy's claimed lineage, however, in
both Egypt Morocco and many Islamic countries there is a register of
the descendants of the Holy Family and such legitimate descendants
carry an identity card to that effect, this has been done to protect
the every growing false claims to the noble lineage. If Mr. Ninowy's
claim that he is from the family is factual, then shame on him, his
actions do not befit his lineage, rather he disgraces it.

Another fact that staggers me is that Prof. Muhammad Ali ben Hasan
felt Mr. Ninowy was eligible to be made shaykh - even after he had
been informed of the flaws in his character. However, some people
are gifted with a smooth, pleasing tongue, telling others what they
want to hear coupled to the art of telling partial truths to suit
their purpose, could it be that Prof. Muhammad Ali was beguiled by
such a way and the reason why he made him shaykh?

Islam is precious with a high standard of ethics. Most of you do not
know what it is like to be lost, not knowing where the truth lies,
but knowing that it must be somewhere, and when you are blessed to
find that Islam has remained intact, untarnished throughout all
these centuries such behavior is very hurtful.

Unfortunately, this behavior is not just limited to one person.
Islam is not to be sold. Yet you find Muslim workers leading their
followers to themselves, extending their hands to be kissed, selling
talismans and such like, rather than directing to Allah and His
Prophet, praise and peace be upon him. How can you be guided if you
choose to follow them? I warn you, if you are attracted to any such
people, recognize their true value, enjoy their company but remember
their status – nothing should come between you and Allah and His
Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, and the only way is to study
the Koran and Hadith. Is it any wonder that Muslims are in the state
they are in, when they abandon Allah and His Prophet, praise and
peace be upon him, by replacing them with so called "Muslim workers"
so that the nation has become lost devising their own personal,
sometimes cultural Hadith.

I repeat my statement at the beginning of this letter to you:
This statement is written in defense of the reporting of Hadith and
the noble character of Shaykh Abdullah. Its presentation is
supported by facts coupled to their dates and for no other reason
and it is hoped that the followers of Mr. Ninowy might rethink and
reassess their path to Paradise.

May Allah guide, forgive and protect us all.

As-Salaamu alaykum

URGENT PRESS RELEASE PART 2:

IMPORTANT NOTE:

We have no personnel agenda of exposing the lies of Muhammad bin Yahya al Ninowy, we are simply implementing the rules of Hadith and Sarek al Hadith.

I am only defending the honour of my beloved and most noble teacher Hafidh Abdullah ben as Siddiq al Ghumari.

POINT 1:

Everyone is now aware that the grand liar Mr. Ninowy stole the work of Imam Nawawi which me and my wife produced, initially he removed my name and left my wife's name on it, claiming that he translated it with my wife (my wife only met the liar Ninowy a few times and she never spoke to him at length about anything, let alone a joint translation project), even when Dr Muhammad Ali from Morocco intervened he still refused to remove his name and our work, only recently after the official letter of complaint written by my wife exposing him and his lies as he now removed the work of my wife and admitted by his own actions and standards what a grand liar he is.

POINT 2:

He claims to have taken Tariqah from Hafidh Abdullah not Sidi Hasan.

To meet a man once, to receive one or two letters from him during the last year before he passed away does not by any standard qualify a person to be Hafidh Abdullah's special student, protector, Muqadem or anything else, yet at the same time you are the same person who curses Hafidh Abdullah's close students secretly.

POINT 3: His so-called Portfolio

Muhammad Ninowy of Atlanta, USA, his brother Isa Ninowy and their cousin Fakhruddin Ninowy all from Syria are using the fabricated letters of Abu Khubza from Morocco who falsely attributed them to Hadith Ahmad bin as Siddiq al Ghumari.

The Ninowys are also using Darwish's released letters and few letters sent to Syria when Ninowy was a baby to try to come up with new falsely attributed letters to support Ninow's lies on Sidi Hafez Abdullah Ben Siddique in order to Smear Sidi Abdullah ben Siddique about his position on Muawiyah (even after Sidi Hasan said Hafidh

Abdullah never cursed anyone let alone the known Sahabi Muawiyah), the scholars Imam Kawthari, Kittani, and anyone who knows Imam Kawthari will know that he wrote an introduction for Hafidh Abdullah's books, Imam Kittani was his father and his teacher and he Hafidh Abdullah would ALWAYS attack anyone who insulted or cursed Muawiyah.

SO HOW CAN NINOWY CLAIM THAT HAFIDH ABDULLAH DID ALL THE LIES HE SAYS - SO WHAT IS THIS MAN TRYING TO DO.

Ninowy never attended a single class of Hafidh Abdullah. Hafidh Abdullah's curriculum was for a full two years, the late wife of Hafidh Abdullah along with other senior students and family can confirm that Hafidh Abdullah had stop teaching anyone in the last 6 years from his blessed life due to his medical status (that is 1986 - 1992).

As for grand liar Ninowy who not only claims that he studied with Hafidh Abdullah but also received full permission in Tariqah.

Sidi Abdullah's late wife witnessed in a recorded which we have, that Ninowy never accompanied Sidi Abdullah or studied with him - he Ninowy only met him once by the door of the Zawiya in Tangier. He Ninowy never lived with the other students on the roof of the Zawiyah like the Egyptians who are alive and bear witness that Ninowy is a liar.

We are talking about great students like Dr. Farooq Hamada (teacher of Dr Muhammad Ali) - of course Ninowy's age does not help him as he lied about working in USA with Sidi Abdullah in 1981 when he would have only been a juvenile in Syria (we have documents to prove he claimed this).

LETS TAKE NINOWY FOR A TEST DRIVE-

He Ninowy claims to be a grand student of Hafidh Abdullah, he studied for six years with Hafidh Abdullah during the last years of his life, if this is the truth then the question is:

Why does Farouq Hamada not know who is Ninowy (he is also a Syrian) - if Ninowy studied with Hafidh Abdullah then Farouq Hamada would definitely know.
Why does Sidi Sadek ben Kiran the best beloved friend of Sidi Abdullah not know who Ninowy is.Why do all the students who attended Sidi Abdullah 2 years curriculum now know who is Ninowy

Ninowy only met the late Professor Hasan el Fatih from Sudan on his death bed and got authority from him while he was dying, so why does he not give this Tareqah Qadiria? To everyone, because Arabs do not give money like Pakistani and Prof Hasan left sons who are to strong for him to cheat them in the money.

URGENT PRESS RELEASE:

O Young innocent Muslims be aware of the grand liar, Muhammad Bin Yahya Al-Ninowy Al Mausawi

This is what Muhammad Bin Yahya Al-Ninowy sent us during the bless month of Ramadan

The Shaykh (*NINOWY*) has been working on the Kanz (46600 hadith*) for the past 2 years, alone. He commented so far on all the hadith that Sidi Abdullah already graded, this way it sustantiates why Sidi Abdullah made his judgment on the hadith, for everyone to see. And he is less than 10000 hadith from finishing the whole collection, with full comments on the Rijaal, Jar'h and Tadil, and classification of the Hadith. He has done that alone not with you Mr. Darwish. Once the whole thing is full in a few months, we will make sure to send you a copy.

Please note: (*NINOWY*) & (46600 hadith*) is our insertion

The following are the blatant lies of Ninowy, exposed and condemned as being a liar of Hadith

No Hafez ever GRADED OR did Rijaal work on the 46600 Hadith of the Kans ul Amal nor its original the Jami al Kabeer by Suyuti (911h)

A major point to note here is that not a single GHUMARI OR EVEN NON-GHUMRARI Muhaddith ever did such work claimed by the grand liar NINOWY, this is a another blatant lie.

Ninowy claims that he as already completed reviewing 36600 Hadith in the last two years yet we find this to be another lie as if one was to type or write down all the 36600 it would take a person a full two years. And he then claims that he only as 10000 Hadith left to review which he says he will complete in the next few months.

The Big question here is that the number doesn't seem to be adding up, 36600 in 24 months and 10000 in a few months - Give us a break.

ANOTHER MAJOR MISTAKE WHICH PROVES HE A LIAR -

Even the students of Hadith are aware that each of the Hadith in the Kans do not have a single Rijal, since Hafidh Suyuti (911h) removed the chains of transmission of the Rijaal - So what chains and Rijal is he referring to, in the Kans you will only see the Sahabi along with the text of the Hadith, a note to remember is that the liar Ninowy added "full ... classification of the Hadith".

By his own ignorance and disrespect he has of Hadith ones comes to the conclusion that this person is a liar and as no standing at all in the field of Hadith

KEEP TRACKING THE LIAR NINOWY:

"And he (NINOWY) is less than 10000 hadith from finishing the whole collection, ... the whole thing is full in a few months"

So he as only a few months left to finish the rest of the Kans ok let us take him on his own words and challenge, we are currently in the blessed month of Ramadan 1429, keep counting the months and lets see when he finishes the works.

HADITH ALREADY CLASSFIED BY MUTAQI AL-HINDI.

DARWISH WAS THE FIRST TO COUNT THEM TO BE 3311 AND RELEASED THE 1843 BOOK-SOURCES OF SUYUTI FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE SUYUTI PASSED AWAY IN 911H

Kanz HAS repetitions, only Darwish has it without repetitions into 26900 electronically - WHICH DARWISH HAS NEVER RELEASED TO CORNER AND EXPOSE WUCH A GRAND LIAR.

Darwish also has AN electronically GRADED COLLECTION OF 3500 Hafiz AHMED GHUMARI COMMENTS

24000 OF 3 HUFFAZ JUDGEMENTS

14950 (GHUMARI+ALBANI JUDGMENTS)

7000 FROM MUSNAD AHMED IBN HANBAL WHICH ARE GOOD

THIS IS MORE THAN 29600

ABOUT KNOWLEDGE

Real knowledge is obtained only with a humble heart. The way to acquire real knowledge is similar to the way in which a person desiring to drink from the water from a stream. He must lower himself and bend down in order to drink. Water is always to be found in the lowest place. We must become like the water.

Every stage of the voyage is more beautiful than the previous stage.

Everyone issues from the same light. There is no distinction.

We see only exteriors but the inner realities are hidden from our perception. Our bodies live in this world, but our inner beings live in another dimension, another realm. Access to this inner being is the entire function of the way (tariqa).

FACE TO FACE: Muhammad Umar

Thursday, 26 June 2008

Alas, Muslims aren't united. Furthermore, Muslims do not know how to prioritize issues. Which problems are important and which are petty. So, that sets us on the wrong track.

Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob is a trained lawyer and Malaysian political commentator. He writes for numerous international newspapers and online journals as well as hosts Face to Face, an interview segment of Malaysian/regional issues and personalities hosted on Malaysia Today. He also serves as Foreign Correspondent for foreign news organisations.

Mr. Muhammad Umar is the chairman of Ramadhan Foundation, www.ramadhanfoundation.com , the UK's leading Muslim youth organisation, founding member of Ramadhan Trust and Chief Patron of the Happy Home Trust. Muhammad Umar made history by becoming the youngest person to be invited on BBC's Hard Talk to discuss the aftermath of the 7th July 2005 terrorist attacks in London and the way forward in tackling the evils of extremism and terrorism. Face to Face gets the opinions of this `voice' of the Muslim youth.

1. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: Tell us about the Ramadhan Foundation?

Muhammad Umar: Well, in short we aim to build bridges across communities. We seek to present Islam in the best light as it should be. We believe that we can offer a positive image of Islam in a professional manner in line with the Islamic Heritage.

2. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: Would you like to share some of the interesting events that you may have planned?

Muhammad Umar: Yes, In fact we are to participate in a debate to be held at Oxford this coming Saturday, 28th June on the motion is `'Islamic Theology & The War on Terror are Jointly Responsible for Muslim Extremism in the UK'? I will be debating against the motion, that Islam is not a factor in terrorism. I believe that Islam is pure and that the problem really is that Islam is truly misrepresented. For this predicament, Muslims themselves are to be blamed as at times they interpret Islam wrongly or at convenience. Worst still when implementation of Islamic decrees is done in a haphazard and way that is based on ignorance of scholarly work.

3. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: You were in Malaysia recently, and so what's your objective impression of Malaysian politics?

Muhammad Umar: Yes, I loved my short visit here as always. You know, Malaysia is a former colony of Great Britain. So, politics here has many similarities from that in the UK. However, I'd like to point out here that Malaysians by far and large I find are politically savvy. Most Malaysians, whom I have met have strong political views and either support one leader or another. To me this is real political consciousness going on here in Malaysia. I also find it refreshing to see that Malaysian leaders are very accessible to their people. I mean, one has a better chance to meet leaders here in Malaysia as compared to the UK. Malaysian leaders are also remarkably in touch with the ground. Politicians like Tun Dr. Mahathir, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir and others I'm sure are in constant contact with the masses. This is unlike politics in the UK where most Brits either don't really care about politics per se or hate their leaders. British subjects have little respect for any of our politicians.

4. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: You speak highly of Tun Dr. Mahathir. Did you know that certain quarters (perceived to be close to the present administration) have lambasted the former premier on a number of issues.. Now, what do Muslims overseas/globally think of Malaysia's political strongman?

Muhammad Umar: Yes, I have read a little on the political spat going on in Malaysia. Let me say this, I reserve any comment about Malaysian politics. Malaysians must determine for themselves where their political path lies. However, as far as the international Muslim community is concerned, we love and respect him. Tun Dr. Mahathir has steadfastly spoken up against western domination in all its forms. Of course he is not a perfect human being, no one is, but let us not deny the many contributions that he has made over twenty-two years. I mean very few leaders in the world can claim to have increased their citizen's per capita income from 300 USD to 5000 USD annually. My question is, why are people only attacking him now, five years after he has retired and not earlier? It's really very sad. Especially the many souls that Tun Dr, Mahathir had helped and have now turncoat. In any event, I'm sure Tun Dr. Mahathir can overcome the challenges, he has endured worst things in his political life.

5. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: What's your observation of Abdullah Badawi?

Muhammad Umar: I have had the privileged to meet him. He is indeed knowledgeable in Islam. It was a pleasure to have met him.

6. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: Malaysia, as you well know is multi-religious and multi-cultural. In your opinion in contrast to your experience in the UK, are non-Muslims / non-Malays in Malaysia being treated unfairly?

Muhammad Umar: Well, I can't say specifically in Malaysia's case, but allow me to make this observation. Malaysia in the last twenty years or so hasn't had any race riots of the scale seen in other parts of the world. Malaysia, has been relatively peaceful and harmonious. One important thing to remember is that in the UK, we do not celebrate the religious or cultural celebrations of others. For example, Muslims, Indians and Chinese celebrate each other's festivals, be it religious or otherwise as official national holidays. In the UK we do not do this. So actually, Malaysia is a beacon of light in this respect. I feel that Malaysians must unite or it will mean the destruction of this beautiful country. The enemies of Malaysia are just waiting to destroy Malaysia. Put aside all your differences especially on the smaller issues for the better of Malaysia.

7. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: Islam in Malaysia has been scandalized by a great many administrative factors as well as human failings. Are there are any parallels to the UK in this regard?

Muhammad Umar: Let me quote to you what the Chief Minister of Sabah said to me recently. He said that Muslims are disorganized and I couldn't agree more. Take this example, YouGov a popular survey in the UK estimated that Muslims may be able to affect at least 100 seats in parliament, if they were united and thus the Muslim vote would be a swing vote to determine political events. Alas, Muslims aren't united. Furthermore, Muslims do not know how to prioritize issues. Which problems are important and which are petty. So, that sets us on the wrong track.

8. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: Islam in South East Asia (SEA) is important to the West only as far as its war on terrorism is concerned, as Washington describes it `the second front on terror'. Is this justified? What role do you see Muslims in SEA playing in its relationship with the Western powers?

Muhammad Umar: As far as the issue of terrorism is concerned in the region, it is a fallacy. It is not a major issue but been made out to be a major issue. Malaysia for example is a symbol of success and modernity. SEA nations need to re- examine their relationship with Western powers that is based on greater transparency. By that I mean, the West has set the definition of what constitutes terrorism. Have we had a chance to define it transparently? What about terrorizing Muslims who are against Western influence and domination? What about the armies of the U.S, U.K. and Israel that promotes state-sponsored terrorism? Iraq

9. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: What about discrimination against Muslims in the UK? Let's talk about this in light of the newly passed controversial anti-terrorism bill that allows for long periods of detention without trial?

Muhammad Umar: Yes, this law is devastating in its effect. It is illegal and immoral. Very sad indeed. Our civil liberties have been eroded. Winston Churchill fought successfully against fascism without taking away any measure of civil liberties. Law abiding Muslims are discriminated against and this trend is on the rise. Attacks against Muslim communities are on the up and up SADLY.

10. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: The Islamic party (PAS) has as its main aim the creation of an Islamic state. Is this compatible with Islamic theology? Comment?

Muhammad Umar: The teleological debate is lengthy and varied in its views. I can hardly delve into it here. However, what I'd like to put across is that Islam is undoubtedly the main religion of Malaysia. Malaysia also has a delicate balance with British political systems and institutions. So, I think that Malaysia has done well in the balancing act but it must continue to look at the big picture. The pertinent issues must be resolved first such as the economy. Perhaps, Muslims must also take time out and ask themselves why are the non-Muslims wary of Islam and Muslims? Why?

11. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: the initiative of globalization is seen by many to be the reasons behind the economic imbalances in the world today. From an Islamic perspective, what do you think?

Muhammad Umar: Again, we have not been a partner in determining the definition of the term `globalization' itself. I mean, Muslims and the wider world's interpretation and expectations must be included into what encompasses `globalization'. I feel `globalization' must be based on morality. It must have as its thrust the equal if not just distribution of the world's wealth to all communities. Globalization must not be merely to satisfy profit interests and greed.

12. Imran Imtiaz Shah Yacob: What would you like to say to the Malaysian people?

Muhammad Umar: Please put your differences aside for the future of your nation. To the Muslims of Malaysia-strengthen your community and put aside your political differences that divide you.

Salaams:

I know you like celebrities and cool stuff – let me tell you, Prophet Muhammad, praise and peace be upon him, is the best celebrity you have and he is the coolest man who ever placed his feet on the ground AND he has a lake full of cool water if you care to take advantage of it!

My intention to come to the UK must be entirely pure in case death overtakes me, if it were to be otherwise then I would be among the losers.

IN ISLAM THERE IS NO VENDETA BETWEEN THOSE WHO BEAR WITNESS TO ALLAH AND HIS PROPHET, PRAISE AND PEACE BE UPON HIM, ONLY THOSE WHO ARE MISLED PRACTICE SUCH A VENDETA IN PRIVATE.

On July 3rd I received an email saying, "we would like you to speak on the subject of Ninowy. A lot of people will come to listen to you and ask you about him and what you said about him was the truth, so you should speak about it in public once you are here, inshaAllah."

I begin by quoting the saying of Brutus in Shakespeare's play, Julius Cesar, "I come to bury Cesar not to praise him." You should understand that this is not my aim, I neither came here to bury Mr. Ninowy nor to praise him, for we all praise Allah, and He is the only One worthy of all humanly possible praise. We are reminded by the words of the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, who said of Allah, "I cannot count Your praise as You praised Yourself."

Having said that, it is neither my intention nor desire to speak in public about the relationship between Mr. Ninowy and myself. Rather, I discourage anyone to ask a question, but if you feel compelled to do so, then it should be in writing and you will receive a written reply with very fine detailed facts, on the understanding that it will not be released to a third party - but remember it was you who asked. This is because I decline to be drawn into a negative/gossipy situation.

You may ask why I have taken this stance. It is because the purpose of my visit and lectures is only to open for the seekers of truth and guidance, the fortress of Ahmad ibn Hanbal, the Imam of the Universe, the man who through his blessed, enormous collection of Hadith is capable of uniting us all in pure faith and fellowship of the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, in which all differences can be solved and removes us from the deep ignorance of the sunnah and its practice.

The following statement is all I intend to make and is a brief synopsisof what happened between Mr. Ninowy, and his former secretary who were Omar's opponents, and then later myself when I was dragged into it:

At the time of the disturbance, I was on good terms with Mr. Ninowy, in fact I was trying to arrange for him an consultancy engagement with two hospitals in Egypt. My Hadith Data Warehouse CD had just been finalized and I was in the process of sending it to him via Canada. Such was relationship with him that when I printed the ijaza of Hadith transmission I had included his name on it, together with his address next to that of Omar.

I was completely unaware of the existence of a "dog fight" going on between Mr. Ninowy, his secretary and a few of his supporters with Omar. When my attention was drawn to the matter, in the spirit of Islam I intervened in order to arbitrate and heal the matter by writing privately to Mr. Ninowy.

Mr. Ninowy's secretary involved himself and turned calling me Kafir coupled with other degrading remarks, the strange thing was I had neither met nor spoken to him or his supporters! I requested Mr. Ninowy to call his secretary to order, but I received a bewildering, unimaginable reply that I will never forget.

Mr. Ninowy declined to take action as one might expect, saying, his secretary was free to say what he wanted, it was a free country! This is by all standards is completely unIslamic and not the attitude of a brother in Islam. Had I not been called a Kafir, but just the other degrading names, it would have been like water of a duck's back and I would not have cared.

I am still puzzled why Mr. Ninowy refused to forgive Omar and move on as I recommended, rather than cursing him in writing. It was at this time that Mr. Ninowy put me in the "enmity column" with Omar, although I was neutral.

Meanwhile, on the Arab internet forums where I had been defending the integrity of Hafez, Shaykh Abdullah ben Siddique Al Ghumari against false accusations that claimed he cursed Mawiyah and also insulted Mawiyah – which Mr. Ninowy had a mixed profile on this matter - the Arab supporters of Mr. Ninowy started their attack. To rectify the matter relating to Shaykh Abdullah, these false accusations were brought to the attention of Shaykh Abdullah's brother, Shaykh Hasan, who, when I visited Morocco put an outright end to these falsehoods in an unedited video, recorded by Omar, who I has just met for the first time.

The onslaught continued. After examining my history with Mr. Ninowy, and in reply I drew attention to some questionable claims of Mr. Ninowy, such as his claimed profile with Hafiz Shaykh Abdullah – the dates just simply did not match. Having revealed this status, Mr. Ninowy sought a phone initiation from Sayed Hasan in the presence of his son – which I honor and recommend all Ghumari lovers to go to Brussels to become spiritually connected to him as is customary by the practitioners throughout the centuries.

In the final analyze, I view the whole matter as satan's interference between people to bring them down through their own shortcomings coupled to his whisperings. Therefore each person should evaluate his status on his path to Allah.

If someone were to ask me if Mr. Ninowy was good or bad, I would reply good. If someone were to ask Mr. Ninowy is Darwish good or bad, and he replied bad, I will recommend that you believe him. And if you want to know how bad I am I will tell you, because I know myself better than anyone else. Allah tells us that every soul knows its own shortcoming regardless of the excuses it presents.

Of course, I am open for reconciliation, which, incidentally, I already offered to him with conditions and gave it to Dr. Muhammad Ali, the son of Shaykh Hasan. The outcome was that Mr. Ninowy agreed to do it in private but not in public. I declined, but now I do not mind. Why? because it is old stuff and I have moved on to the den of the largest polar bear of hadith Ahmad ibn Hanbal to whom I am devoting the rest of my life in the translation and spread of his work. I have taken everything out of my hair, and keep reminding myself that the Companions used to say, that for them gold and stones are equal.

Having got this out of the way, I would like you to focus on the positive hadith endeavor I am here to launch The hadith have been abandoned so long in the west to the extent that every person and group has replaced it with their own sayings and promoted it as Islam today in the west.

Sometimes, you will find me very persistent when it comes to the purity of hadith in order that you gain a better understanding of the purity of the Koran – and this is the BIG story. I would welcome you to come one day to talk about it without having made other engagements for your time that day. I assure you, you will not regret it, just as your fathers never regretted listening to Ahmad Deedat's launching of his puritanical comparative study of Christianity.

If you will not behave I will start translating for you live Shaykh Sharawy's 20 volumes of the explanation of the Koran, – smile – which is my second aim after having served Ahmad ibn Hanbal!

Finally, it is time to go for the big wins in the Islamic heritage in order that you arrived in good shape to Allah - this moment, not tomorrow when it will be too late. For tomorrow will never come except according to the device of satan, for Allah said, "They were deluded by wishful thinking of tomorrow." And satan will assure you that he is not guilty in terms of physically pulling your hand or putting a gun to your head, rather he just called you and you followed him, so why do you blame him, and he in turn will say "blame yourself."

NOTE: If after having read this you have not lost your appetite to drop the Ninowy/Darwish issue and focus on the Hadith of the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, or at least go between for reconciliation, I will take it as a rule of thumb that establishing a Dar Al Hadith here is the wrong location.

Ahmad ibn Hanbal's clock should not be run on anyone else's clock.

I know you like celebrities and cool stuff – let me tell you, Prophet Muhammad, praise and peace be upon him, is the best celebrity you have and he is the coolest man who ever placed his feet on the ground AND he has a lake full of cool water if you care to take advantage of it!

As salaam alaykum WR WBT.
Maybe it will be nice to check this out on this blog

MAHDHARA of SHAYKH MUHAMMAD FAAL BIN ABD'LLAH aka SHAYKH BAH.
Recently, I was speaking to the son of the Shaykh of the school
where I presently study here in Mauritania (NABBAGHIYYAH). While he
was asking me about a group of brothers from the UK that are
interested in assisting some of the students of the mahdharah
(school) financially and bookwise, he raised the issue of the state
of the school mosque. He told me the history behind the mosque, its
cost and the reason why the building starting. It was very sad to
hear about the history but alhamduliLLAH, with ALLAH all goes well.

He mentioned to me that some Qatari charity organisations came on a
visit to the Shaykh and to get themselves acquainted with the state
of the school. Seeing that the school has a mosque that is small and
doesn't suffice the number of students while been tutored by the
Shuyukh, they proposed that a new masjid should be built on their
own account.

But before they will start by assistance, the school itself has to
start the project after which they will give their support.
Unfortunately, since the commencement of the construction of the
mosque, these people have refused to turn up to the aid of this
school. They left them alone to start a very big project that
accomplishing it is like getting a water from a mirage. Although,
they have really tried their best in sourcing for some money,
building the mosque to a very considerable level but the problem of
completion still sleeps with them like a nightmare.

Buying of cements and iron rod from the city center is very
expensive and transporting them to the desert is extremely difficult
and costs so much money. This mahdharah is one of the best you can
find in Mauritania with a very organised system. The numberof
Shuyukh in the school is higher than any other mahdhara you can find
in Mauritania. The Shaykh who is indeed a spiritual in the village
takes care of the students by providing them with food and
accomodation. He has with him seven (7) other Shuyukh teaching the
students different sciences of the deen.

It is in this light that the son of the Shaykh who is indeed a
wonderful and humble teacher requested from me that since I have
friends in some parts of the world that, I should kindly assist them
in using this means of the internet to call for donations in
completing this mosque project. We beg you all, wonderful brothers
and sisters of Islam to assist this school in putting up a mosque
which will serve as a teaching center and also a place of ibadah for
Muslims.

Whoever donates to the cause of building the house of ALLAH will
surely be blessed with a house in paradise as said by the best of
Mankind (SAW). As you all know that when a Muslims dies, everything
seizes to count for him except three. One of them is his/her sadaqah
(charity) that people benefit from continiously. My fellow brethren,
how nice will it be for you and I to enjoy uncountable blessings in
our graves just because people pray and obtain knowledge from the
mosque where we put in our halal income.

I beg you all brothers and sisters who love the deen, who really
want the deen to stand, who want people to benefit from good
services to assist this poor people and student of knowledge in
contributing generously for the completion of the house of ALLAH and
a center for seeking beneficial knowledge.

You can email or give me a phone call with the number I have
provided: Pictures can be seen on the blog. as_abdulng@...

More info about the school and its village can be gotten from the
blog of one of the foreign students who studies there presently.

Subject: The Islamic Ruling of Abortion as a result of Rape
ramadhanfoun...

Greetings to everyone

The Foundation received a question from one of our supporters in regards to the Islamic ruling on Abortion as result of rape, this was a reply to the press release the Foundation sent out about the current debate in UK's Parliament about the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill, the question was answered by our Chairman Mr. Muhammad Umar.

...................................

Dear Mohammed,

I really do like reading your regular mailouts but let me ask you a question regarding faith and abortion?

What would you say to the women in the UK who are raped and get pregnant, what is your position on this and where does your faith stand on this?

Kind Regards

Pedro Carvalho
FNIK PR
...................................

I begin with the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful.

We seek refuge in Allah from the cursed Satan.

As to what follows, then below is the Islamic view of our learned and respectful scholars in regards to abortion.

Muslim jurists have agreed unanimously that after the fetus is completely formed and has been given a soul, abortion is Haram (prohibited). It is also a crime, the commission of which is prohibited to the Muslim because it constitutes an offence against a complete, living human being.

The jurists have mentioned the life enters the foetus upon 120 days. From then onwards the foetus is a living human being. Jurists insist that the payment of blood money (diya) becomes incumbent if the baby is aborted alive and then died, while a fine of lesser amount is to be paid if it is aborted dead.

The issue of abortion in Islam as a result of a women being raped is matter of difference of opinion amongst the learned Scholars of Islam, some have allowed it while orders have prohibited it.

Shaykh Muhammad Sayed Tantawi, the Grand Shaykh of Al-Azhar University in Cairo Egypt, made the following ruling when he said, "that abortion is allowed in Islam if the mother's life is in imminent danger". He also allowed abortion if the pregnancy was due to the result of rape.

The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Mufti Ali Jumuah, said, "It is Haram (forbidden) to abort the fetus after life is breathed into it, in other words after 120 days,"

However, he added that a woman could terminate a pregnancy if she was in immediate danger. "Both the raped woman and the child are guiltless," he then said, "If it is sacrilegious for a woman to get rid of a child who is the result of incest, then an innocent raped woman also may not abort a fetus."

The learned Islamic Jurist, Malakah Youssef, professor of comparative jurisprudence at Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, said "abortion was a crime from the moment of conception - even in the case of rape."

He also stated that, "We cannot stop a crime, that is, rape, by committing a more cruel and barbarous crime of killing a human being,"

These scholars amongst others suggested that the victims of rape should give birth to a child conceived in a rape and then give it to an orphanage or a woman unable to have children.

Shaykh Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi the head of the European Council for Fatwa and Research and President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, states in his well-known book, The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam:

"While Islam permits preventing pregnancy for valid reasons, it does not allow doing violence to it once it occurs.

However, there is one exceptional situation. If, say the jurists, after the baby is completely formed, it is reliably shown that the continuation of the pregnancy would necessarily result in the death of the mother, then, in accordance with the general principle of the Shari`ah, that of choosing the lesser of two evils, abortion must be performed. The reason for this is that the mother is the origin of the fetus; moreover, her life is well-established, with duties and responsibilities, and she is also a pillar of the family. It would not be possible to sacrifice her life for the life of a fetus which has not yet acquired a personality and which has no responsibilities or obligations to fulfill.

Imam al-Ghazzali makes a clear distinction between contraception and abortion, saying that contraception is not like abortion. Abortion is a crime against an existing being. It follows from this that there are stages of existence. The first stages of existence are the settling of the semen in the womb and its mixing with the secretions of the woman. Then come the next gestational stage. Disturbing the pregnancy at this stage is a crime. When it develops further and becomes a lump, aborting it is a greater crime. When it acquires a soul and its creation is completed, the crime becomes more grievous. The crime reaches a maximum seriousness when it is committed after it (the fetus) is separated (from the mother) alive."

However Dr Qardawi later on in his Fatwa mentions that even though this was the trend he followed in regards to the prohibition of abortion in Islam mentions that there are some jurists who think that it is permissible to have an abortion within the first forty days of pregnancy. Some of them even permit it until before the soul is breathed into the embryo, he mentions that there are some exceptional cases in which one may adopt one of the latter views, and the stronger the excuse, the clearer the reason for the dispensation is, and if that is within the first forty days, it means that the dispensation is more appropriate.

However according to some Scholars it may be permissible to abort before 120 days in the following instances:

1) Rape
2) Incest
3) Sexual interference with the mentally retarded
4) Foetal deformity for e.g.. anencephaly (no brain)
5) Foetal deformity for e.g.. congenital rubella health.

And Allah knows best.
