04/02/07 - Introductory Fighting Course. This training session is an
introductory course for people who wish to improve their kumite
skills. Weather you are a total beginner or you may be a higher grade
student who hasn't had the opportunity to practise your fight skills
to the degree you may have wanted. Course contents will include:
Basic competition techniques and movement.
How to use the mat area effectively.
How to score and win!
Cover fundamentals of competition rules.
This course is not fitness based course, but deals with the basic
aspects of fighting and is a great way gain some experience and
confidence for those looking to do kumite competitions. Instructors
are welcome to train along with their students to reinforce the
techniques taught on the course at their own Do-jo. Any instructor
bringing 8 or more students along may train free of charge! Venue:

£8.00. Moorways Sports Complex is situated on the southern side of
Derby. It is easily found at the junction of Moor Lane and Osmaston
Park Road. The centre is well signposted from all directions into the
city including the A52, A38 and the A6. All routes lead onto the
Derby Ring Road A5111. Osmaston Park Road is part of the Ring Road
between Harvey Road and Newdigate Street. Once at the sports centre,
go through reception, changing rooms are straight ahead for both male
& female. The Do-Jo is on the first floor, with best access from the
reception area, up the stairs head towards the gym and turn right.
We plan to start the course on time at 12.30 so please make
allowances for this, if anyone needs further information then please

The course is primarily aimed at kata judges who want to attempt
qualification and for those already qualified to brush up on the
rules.
These courses are designed so that participants actually practice
kata from styles other than their own as well as examine the rules
and system of judging.
Terry is both an EKF and WKF kata judge and is also on the EKF
referees commission. In addition he is a Tatami Chief at both EKF and
WKF level.
Terry is highly regarded as one of the best referees in the world and
also competed for his country in both kata and kumite.
This course has been opened up to senior students who want to study
these kata who may not be necessarily interested in judging. The cost
to anyone who just wants to come along and train is £15.
It is an ideal opportunity to train with Terry and other senior
British kata officials.
04/02/07 - SUNDAY 4th February S.E.M.K.A Black Belt and 1st Kyu
Standardization Course. The course is open to all S.E.M.K.A. and AIWa
members of 1st Kyu and above. All students of these grades from
S.E.M.K.A. must attend these courses. At Tanbridge School, Guildford
