Hi Derek,

Yes, I will definitely put the venues of the foreign gigs on here as
soon as I find out myself!
I think one of the Berlin gigs is at the Waldbuhne - a massive open
air arena. We have some frinds in Germany who keep us informed of the
venues, etc.
I also agree 100% about 'Back to the Drive' it is my favourite of all
the new ones and so 'glam'. I also think it could be the song to get
suzi back in the charts - with the right backing.

take care,
Love skip

Hi Skip
Any chance you could put some of the venues of the foreign gigs on
here in future?
Usually Suzi's web site just gives the dates and countries...nothing
more!

Thanks

Suzi on TV again...great news, can't wait to see it!!
(Lucky you, being there!)
I'd love to see Suzi do Back To The Drive on TV.
That record should've been a single...if it had had enough airplay
it could've been a huge hit.

Hi Everyone,

We went to the BBC television studios last night for a recording of
the above show - which features Suzi doing 'Devil Gate Drive' - don't
want to spoil the surprise - but it was brilliant and will be well
worth watching!

I understand the show will be transmitted on 23rd December.

Just for the record, also appearing last night were Ill Divo,
Bananarama, Sugar Babes and Tony Christie! Needless to say, Suzi was
by far the best and really rocked the joint!
Also managed to have a quick chat with her which was nice.

Hi Derek,
No news on any tour of Denmark as yet - we only have the gig list
that you have at the moment, but have asked if there is an up to
date one.

With regards to Germany, we always make our own arrangements for
travel, etc. It is very easy to do it over the Internet.

We will be going to Berlin next May - can't wait!

Take care,
Skip

I think this gig will be at Bodelwyddan Castle near Rhyl.
The Hotel looks beautiful but I get the feeling it will be fairly
pricey again.
Having said that, the Rock Queens Weekend in Hungerford sounded like a
really intimate gig and I regret missing it!

North Wales is only a couple of hours drive from here so I'm hoping to
go to this one if it comes off!

Any news on the tour of Denmark next year yet?

Lynn and Skip...didn't you say you're going to a couple of gigs in
Germany next year?
Do you organise these trips yourselves or does a travel agent advise
you?

Hi Pete,

As far as I know, the Peterborough gig has been confirmed, but I
don't know the venue as yet. As soon as I know, I will put it on
the forum, so please keep checking it. Or if you find out any
details please let us know.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum. It is not an exclusive group - at least I
hope it isn't. So please tell people about the forum and let's get
some serious conversation going!
If you have read the previous messages, you will know that I want to
get every UK Suzi gig reviewed on here, or any Suzi gig in the
world, for that matter.
So the more fans that know about the forum - the better.

Hi Karen,

Thanks for such a detailed review of the gig. It sounds like you

When you said she sat down to do All shook Up, she also did that in
Australia, so I guess its something she has decided to put in the UK
shows.

But it was nice to hear how this one went, so thanks again,

Hi Karen
Thanks for the review.
On Saturday night I couldn't stop thinking about what I was missing,
what songs Suzi was doing etc...it was torture!
Glad to hear you all had a great time...I can't wait to hear those
new songs!

Has she dropped Back to the Drive from the set now then?

Love
Derek

hi all,
saturdays gig at hungerford,
as i was staying at the hotel i had already checked out the venue
the night before when shola ama was playing.
it was quite small, only held about five hundred people. with a very
low stage and a dance floor in front.
the hotel was all sold out and was very nice but not really posh.
on saturday carol decker was on before suzi, and she went down well.
i met up with silv, laura and her friend and watched her from the
bar.
when she finished silv and myself went down to get our positions at
the front of the stage. suzi was supposed to be on at 11.20, but she
didnt start until about 11.45. joanne and angela were also staying so
they came to join us.
suzi finally came on stage, and started off with born makin
noise, she was wearing ripped jeans, blue cropped t-shirt and leather
jacket, she looked great as usual.
next came tear me apart, shes in love with you and the wild one.
she then talked for a bit about the new album comming out in febuary
before launching into i dont do gentle.
she played stumblin in and 48 crash then sat on a stool in the middle
of the stage to sing all shook up, it was a shorter version than
usual,i had not seen her do it that way before.
suzi went on to talk about singing with angels which should be out
mid next year, before singing it.
we then had glycerine queen, can the can and devil gate drive, by
this time the dance floor wes packed and every one singing along.
for the encore it was if you cant give me love and sweet little rock
and roller.
as usual it was all over far to quickly.
silv had to rush off to get her cab back as the gig ended later then
expected,which was a shame.
but a fanastic night as it always is and well worth the expense.
she is bieng advertised as doing another one of these on august 4th
next year in bodelwyddan, in north wales.

Shame we all missed the gig on bonfire night but some of us were busy
playing ourselves! Any news anyone, on how the gig went? Was it a posh
place that didnt let the audience join in? Seen Suzi in Potters twice and
that place was a bit too posh for a Suzi gig... still beggars cant be
choosers, any gig will do.
Can't believe ive got to wait till next year for a gig.

Hi Derek,

Its a shame you ain't gonna make it - I don't blame you, though. It
makes you wonder how some of these business' people survive with the
attitudes they have.

Never mind, put the money aside and go on the tour of Denmark 2006
if it happens!

Hopefully, Karen will put a review on here in a few days so we can
read what we missed.

Take care,
Skip X

Sadly, it looks like we won't make this gig after all.
I phoned the hotel this morning and they wouldn't take a booking
just for the Saturday night.
Can't make it down on the friday as I'm working till 7pm and it's a
two hundred mile drive to Berkshire from here.
I resent being ripped off paying for the full weekend, so.....

You would think it made good business sense to have rooms occupied
for one night rather than not at all!

Anyway...those of you lucky enough to be going, hope you have a
fantastic time!

Love
Derek

Hi Derek,

I hope you make it to the gig on Saturday - and if you read the
previous post, it would also be great if you did a review - you owe me
one after leaving the last gig for me to do on the other forum!

Have a rockin' time if you get there - we'll be thinking of you when
we are playing 'Amerillo' at Belvedere!

Hi Karen,

Glad you joined the group!

I hope you have a great time on Saturday - I wish me and Lynn were
going but we have a gig in Belvedere.

It would be great if you could do a review for us all on here - just
to make us jealous of course!
Seriously, I am trying to get a review on the forum for every Suzi gig
and yours would be the first.

Take care, have a great gig.

Hi
I phoned Warners last week about this gig and they gave me the phone
number of the hotel.
I rang them and asked if we could book just for Suzi's concert and
they said no, the entertainment is for hotel guests only.
I phoned Warners again this morning to ask about booking a room just
for the Saturday night and they said it is possible but to call back a
couple of days before the gig to see if they're going to knock
anything off the price!!
Not very co-operative...just confirms what we already knew really!

By the way, did Lynn get the email I sent last week?
A couple of my emails have gone astray recently.

Hi Pete,

Glad you joined this group! It's a shame no-one is going but I can
understand it as it is very expensive. I think Karen is going -
looks like she'll be the only one.

Take care,
Skip

Hi,
Is anyone going to the Suzi gig on 5th November?

I can't go as we have a gig - it is also very expensive and might not
be a full gig if Carol Decker is also playing on the same night.

If anyone reading this goes, please post a gig review and photo's if
possible. I want to get every Suzi gig reviewed on here if possible.

Thanks,

Skip

Hello you two!
I too saw Suzi a couple of times in 1980...
I still have my ticket from one gig on 24th May when she played at
the Manchester Apollo!
And a couple of the photos I posted on here are from The Royal
Theatre in St Helens from the same tour.
That was the first time I'd seen Suzi come on stage to "The Bitch Is
Back"...when that huge backdrop with her name on it descended from
above with all the spotlights on it my heart was pounding! ;-)

You're right, things were getting a bit nasty on the other forum
last week.
I don't enjoy reading the board when stuff like that kicks off...
there's no need for it!
Anyway, it seems to have calmed down a bit now.

Hope you're both ok.
Love
D

Hi Derek,
Thanks for joining - hope some more people do as there are only three
of us at the moment!

My main reason for starting it to be honest was to get away from the
arguments on the other forum. I'll see how it goes for a while.

My first Suzi gig was May 18th 1980 at Hammersmith Odeon in London.
When she played stuff like Evie, Suicide, wiser than you, etc, to
promote that album. I was about 20 rows from the front and I remember
just sitting open mpouthed throughout the gig - I couldn't believe I
was seeing Suzi at last, after being a fan since '73. My mum wouldn't
let me go to any gigs before I was 17.
God knows how many gigs i've notched up since then, my mum has been to
a few as well! I'll never forget the date, etched on my memory
forever.
I will dig out some old photo's as well to put on here.

Take care,
Love Skip

When we were all together a couple of weeks ago you asked me about my
first Suzi gig.
It was at the Preston Guild Hall in 1975, during the RAK Rocks Britain
Tour...when Suzi toured with The Arrows and Cozy Powell.
I've just been watching the footage of Suzi live in Japan from that
year...same stage gear, same guitar (Gibson Grabber) as I remember
from that gig...fantastic!
That video doesn't half bring some great memories flooding back.
It's etched in my mind forever...I was on cloud nine!
The live CD recorded in Rimini, Italy in 75 also takes me right back
to that time.
When and where were your first Suzi gigs?

Hi Skip
Thanks for the invitation to join your new Suzi group.
Best of luck with it! ;-)

I sent some of my photos from Suzi's appearance at the Elvis hayride
to Pat Doonan for Suzi's web site...not sure if he got them!
I've posted a few photos on here I took of Suzi at gigs many moons
ago...they're pretty grainy, but not too bad for over 20 years old!
I've started an "oldies" folder in the hope people will share their
vintage gig photos with us!
Love
D

Hello,
if this is to be an unargumentative place to ponder on Suzi with like -
-minded people then it looks a pleasant place to stop...
good luck
