In what way do you think sharing this info with your psychiatrist
would help? Stupid psychiatrists will forever remain so and, besides,
they are hardly likely to be open to be "educated" by their patients
(of all people), are they?
In my experience (decades of it), it is best to be pragmatic and
forget about the definitions.
I have found that EMPowerPlus has been a great help. You should
consider it. Read about it at http://www.truehope.com
It is a food supplement ~ vitamins, minerals, amino acids, trace
elements, etc. ~ that we need to build the necessary
neuro-transmitters to balance our moods. Bipolars have a brain
biochemistry that needs a helping hand. Once we sort that out, we
function normally. It all boils down to the biochemistry and the
manifestation of its imbalance is our emotional turmoil.
Others I have used to good effect are BioYoung and the Amway range
(for Amway, you need to use several of their products, notably
Nutrilite Dailies, Vitamin C, B Complex and others; whereas
EMPowerPlus has been specially formulated for Bipolars and others with
deficient brain biochemistry.)
I believe these food supplements and not medications are the way to go.
I have suffered from the side-effects of the meds for decades (far too
long) and know they don't offer a permanent solution, but add to my
problems in the long run. I've been on EMPowerPlus since September to
good effect. I started weaning off my meds in April 2004 and stopped
completely on June 25. I had a few rounds of Aqueous Detoxification in
July and August (to get rid of the accumulated toxins from my meds,
esp. heavy metals like lithium). I also take freshly squeezed fruit
and vegetable juices with oat/wheat bran, sunflower/melon/pumpkin
seeds, bulgar wheat, raw unprocessed honey at least twice a day with
the EMPowerPlus powder.
I would like to hear from others who have tried EMPowerPlus and their
experience with it.
