First of all, thanks to all those who made it down to see Camilo Azuquita on
Tuesday. A good turn-out, fantastic sound and well-rehearsed band made this
one of this year's highlights. The man was on great form, impeccable as ever,
and loved his trip to London. Tomorrow he flies back to N.Y. To finish his
latest album. Good to see so many other promoters, DJs and dance-teachers in
the house that night, as well as Aston Villa's Norberto Solano who loved every
minute of the show! (We're getting used to football celebrities at our
promotions - Roberto Pla's October gig at Momos was attended by Ronaldo (Real
Madrid), and top Arsenal players Patrick Viera and Edu.) - anyway enough
namedropping! Here are some forthcoming events:


Tuesday Nov. 9th
The Rumba Pa'Ti DJ posse is growing. As from this Tuesday we welcome DJ El
Moreno. Specialist in the tuffest reggaeton and R&B, Moreno spins at Flipp'd on
Saturdays at Bar Rumba, Rococco and Salvador and Amanda. Moreno will be spinning
from midnight onwards. This week we also feature special guest Rico (Bar Salsa)
alongside long-standing Rumba Pa'Ti resident DJ Johnny G with the the best salsa
party in town. Adm.£3 students/£4 B4 11pm/£5 after

Back by popular demand, legendary Cuban pianist/vocalist Alfredo Rodriguez makes
his second appearance at Bar Rumba. Performing material from his recent album
Acereko on Naxos, Alfredo is a charismatic figure who has recorded and performed
with greats like Fajardo Y Sus Estrellas, Patato Valdez, La Sonora Matancera, La
Lupe, Cortijo and Ismael miranda, and Tito Puente. Born in Cuba, Alfredo spent
many years in N.Y. where he was an integral member of the Joe Cuba Sextet, this
gave him the opportunity to check out jazz pianists like Ahmed Jamal, Herbie
Hancock and Bill Evans (who he cites as an influence) Enjoy his rootsy
Son-montuno, salsa and Latin-jazz with a New York swing and an Afro-cuban beat!
