This one night Salsa extravaganza organized by Ola Latina and Simply Salsa
features one of London’s finest Salsa Bands – CONJUNTO SABROSO.

Formed in 1995 by its lead singer Luz Elena Caicedo, from Cali Colombia, this
highly accomplished 10 piece band features members from various countries in
Latin America such as Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, and the U.K.; under the musical
direction of master percussionist Wilmer Sifontes from Venezuela, Conjunto
Sabroso have produced and developed their own distinctive and original sound.
They toured abroad as far as China, and with legends of salsa Tito Gomez, Willie
Gonzales, Maelo Ruiz, Cano Estremera, Adelberto Sanitago to name but a few!

Based around the classic “Conjunto” style combining the sound of Piano, Bass,
Tres (Cuban Guitar), a vibrant three trumpet horn section, powerful percussion
(Congas, Bongos, cow bell), and fronted by two exciting and energetic singers,
CONJUNTO SABROSO brings together some of the best and most experienced musicians
in the Latin circuit today. Their authentic swing, and lively presence on stage
provides an exciting show that keeps audiences glued to the dance floor wherever
they play.

In addition there will be a special dance show from Cuba – LAZARO LOPEZ (lead
dancer from the Cuban ‘Hit’ musical ‘Lady Salsa’) and his partner PAOLA.

The evening kicks off with FREE dance classes at all levels taught by
LAZARO  LOPEZ (Lady Salsa) and MICHAEL MANDRELL (Tropicana World Champion) & The
Simply Salsa Team.

This event will feature 4 different rooms, catering for different tastes of
Salsa and Latin music -
Main Room: Viva La Republica with the Salsa Republic DJs,
Room 2: Afrocubano: DJ Sol of Afro Cuban Pati (Cuban and African Salsa),
Room 3: Latin Up! – DJ Latin Mist (Up tempo Latin music) and
Room 4: Chill Out Room – overlooking the River Thames.

christening event" at Bar Salsa on Wednesday 4 August

This years LATINFEST will incorporate and be built
around the annual
London Salsa Congress & The UK Lambada & Samba
Congress as well as the
LATIN RAVE stand at THE NOTTING HILL Carnival. From
Monday –Thursday some
15 different clubs will host a number of different
special LATINFEST
events which include dance shows, special guest dance
classes, poetry
recitals, art shows, cinema nights etc. Then the focus
of the LATINFEST is
the so-called “CONGRESS WEEKEND” (Friday 27th – Monday
30th August).



This includes: A live-concert from 9pm-3am at the
latinGRAND night @
Club Colosseum (Vauxhall), An all-day dance festival
(most of which is
FREE) from 12noon-3am at The Rocket Complex
(Holloway), the workshop
Sunday and All-nighter @ SCALA (King’s Cross) and
concluding with the Latin
Rave event @ the Notting Hill Carnival.

very special launch
event which will HAVE TO BE the biggest of it's kind
ever in the World.

The Salsa Y Mambo Team will take absolute beginners
through an intensive course that will take you step by
step to becoming salsa dancers in just three hours...

What you will learn

1. The five most commonly used steps in Salsa.
Over the past five years we have been honing our
teaching and dancing skills and have demystified the
art of dancing salsa. Our technique and focus on the
five most commonly used moves cuts your learning curve
by 70%
2. Shines or Solo Dance Routines.
  We have a series of fun solo dance routines that are
fun to do if your in a salsa dance and don't have a
partner and are designed not only to warm up your
muscles prior to the lesson but are an aid to balance
styling and technique.
3. Combinations or Turn Patterns.
In our opinion there are five essential turn patterns
any beginner or intermediate dancer should master as
most moves incorporate these patterns. We will teach
you how to recognize and execute them with style.
4. Leading and Following Technique.
In Salsa the man is designated as the leader and the
lady the follower. It can be an exciting experience
without rivalry once you understand why and how to
lead and follow. We will teach you how to lead and
follow. Also for the men we will show you how to
recognize a ladies individual style lead her even when
in fact she is leading you.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP?.
This workshop is ideal for absolute beginners who want
a fast track route to dancing Salsa. Also those who
have been dancing for a while and wish to consolidate
their knowledge brush up on their technique and add
new moves to their repertoire. Past students who may
have attended a few classes and stopped and would like
to start again.

If you are at advanced level and you would like to add
a killer routine and three exciting combination to

Bamboleo London concert Fri 11 June Cancelled
Wednesday we were informed that the Bamboleo London
Concert has had to be cancelled.
The band had to make this difficult decision when it
became clear that the Belgium based company Havana
Loca that had organised the tour were failing to meet
their contractual obligations. Several of the dates in
Italy were withdrawn leaving the band with a huge gap
in the tour before the last dates in Denmark and
London. This made it financially impossible to remain
in Europe, and therefore they are returning to Cuba.
Although this is a problem completely out of our
control or influence the London promoters Simply
Salsa, Salsa Republic and The Streetbeat Salsa Co.
would like to apologise to all ticket holders and
those intending to come to the concert on Friday 11th
June. You have our word that all pre-purchased tickets
will be refunded in full including transaction fees.
If you have paid for a ticket at a venue please return
to that venue for a refund. Online ticket sales will
be automatically refunded to your account.

The band have asked us to convey their sincere regret
at not being able to perform in London and would ask
you to wait a little longer for their first London
performance. We hope to bring Bamboleo "direct" to
London later this year.
