I have just found and joined this group.
I live in Tasmania and have started building my lifeboat.
16X 64watt panels through an inverter into the grid ( for the moment,
it saves installing batteries) A wood heater with a "wetback" to heat
the water in a Solar water heater on the roof.
I have a new (chinese ) 200watt wind gen to mount and will add more
panels as I can afford them. I intend to buy a (Chinese) diesel gen
6.5KW, to run on Biodiesel.
We are converting a lot of the garden to vegatables & fruit trees and
we are keeping chickens. I live next to the sea, so can catch fish and
we have a supply of oysters & mussels.
I run a Peugeot 405 diesel and make my own biodiesel .
We are not totally self sufficient but hope to be able to trade for
anything I cannot make or grow myself.
