Ah, yes, peter, but then at 28mph you'd have time to avoid anything which
entered the dim glow of the headlights!
And it occurred to me after I wrote the last note, that uniquely in a mini,
the boot actually IS pretty close to the engine, so your point stands :-)

I have actually owned 3 original minis, plus my Dad and sister had one each.
I also had a Beetle Volkswagen with a 6 volt battery under the back seat
and the headlights were virtually useless.
