Heat sources in Wales - OK, why not cut the bracken down (when it's dry,
natch), and BURN it?? Or could you get all the cows to FART into a big gas
bag?
The thing about any "alternative" energy is that it's generally precious
(free to make, but capitally intensive), so I guess a major driver has to be
the highest efficiency of whatever machine you come up with.

Perhaps an alternative or additional method to wind might be to capture
the kinetic energy of raindrops hitting the surface of a collector and
turning that into useable energy - piezoelectric crystals or something!
Genetically engineer bracken to produce electric current from movement
and grow nanofibre connections through the roots and rhizomes to central
connecting grid nodes... hmmm
