Wind turbine powered hot water heater...   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #222 of 310 |
I'm currently advising someone on the Inner Hebrides, where there is
plenty of wind, on a wind power heating system, based on a 'Hornet'
turbine - see http://www.hydrogenappliances.com/ for more detail, I
just happened to have an unused Hornet, and so have sold it to them,
to put with a 24v immersion heater they've bought already. The Hornet
is a rather unusual beast that works well in high winds, but is not so
good in lower wind speed areas, it is also rather strong, which is why
it's probably the best bet in an area where the wind is so strong,
anemometers wear out in months! Will keep you posted as to how we get on.

Clive :-))
