From James Bettley:
Some photos have been added (see photo gallery in Boarzell group):
- Two images from the original architect of the Boarzell building
published in a journal called Academy Architecture, 1911. Unfortunately
it is not very clear from the plan just what the additions amounted to,
but if you look closely you can see that some of the walls are hatched
and others solid. Does anyone know the date of the original building,
I wonder, and was it by the same architect? One can see who the
building was made for (Sir Freddie Fison) and the plans show the
typical stately home layout (Butler's pantry with plate safe etc.). The
dining room used to be the billard room !
- Two images from the sporting and cultural life of Boarzell: lots of
kids in pink blazers near the pavillion and the cast of the Willow
Pattern play.
Enjoy!
