 Hosted by Hazlegrove House Karate-do, Hazlegrove House, Sparkford, Somerset. Open to all traditional Wado clubs and individuals. Venue: Wellsprings Leisure Centre, Cheddon Road, Taunton, Somerset. TA2 7QP. Categories for all! Caf� & Refreshment facilities on site. Profits will be donated to the St Margaret's Children's Hospice.
Licence (for EKF Chit Number inspection), 9.00am. (No more bookings after 9.45am). Eliminations: 10.00am. Categories for all ages and levels. Events: Individual Kata, Pairs Kata. The official Kata for the day will consist of Kata: Pinan Shodan, Nidan, Sandan, Yodan, Godan. Ku-Shanku, Nai-Hanchi, Seishan, Chinto, Bassai, Wanshu, Ni-Sei-Shi, Rohai, Ji-tte, Ji-han, Ji-in, Suparinpei. Rules: This competition will be run on the simplified `Pyramid Knock-out' system, there will be NO Repechage.

  MIDLAND REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, at Crystal Leisure Centre, Bell Street Stourbridge. DY8 1AE. Tel. 01384 812910. Dear Instructor/Coach, Welcome to the 1st National Midlands Regional Championships. The championships are being held on 19th April 2009 at the Crystal Leisure Centre, Bell Street, Stourbridge, DY8 1AE. Registration is at 9:00am with the championships commencing 9:30am. Please don't forget that the EKF entry closing date is Monday 13th April 2009.Important Notes: This event is open to EKF associations in England and their respected clubs and groups. Payments by cheque are to be made payable to `EKF'. Only one entry form and Association cheque per association. Associations are reminded of their responsibility and the importance of insurance cover for all athletes and that coaches signing entry forms have confirmed and seen all registrations including insurance cover for all their competitors. Cadets (16yrs to 17yrs) competing in the Senior categories do so with the understanding that they are competing to Senior WKF Kumite rules. COACHES: There will be a licence & weight check on the day. It is the responsibility of all associations to ensure that athletes they enter all have INSURANCE cover via their association... Any competitor failing the weigh-in check will not be allowed to change category on the day. Coaches have up until 17th April to amend the original submitted entry form. Coaches must be in Association tracksuits or colours etc. and must wear their coaching EKF ID badge (Ex Governing Body Badges are NOT permitted) which must includes their photograph, and can be obtained from the EKF Chief Referee. Only qualified EKF coaches are permitted in the official area at any one time, all coaches must provide his/her details to the organiser via the entry form. Only 1 coach is permitted at the Tatami at any one time. Entries of 10 people or less on the entry form will receive 1 free coach's entry pass, 11 to 15, two free coaches entry passes, 16 or more 3 free entry passes. Please advise your competitors accordingly regarding insurance cover, `All competitors must have valid insurance and be a member of the EKF via their association'. IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ASSOCIATIONS: Finally, we would ask you to make the effort to support this EKF Regional Championship, which is the start of a series of championships which will lead to the selection to the National squad via a ranking system. These championships will be the forerunners to an Elite Regional Programme of events for the English Karate Federation. A successful conclusion will serve to enhance the prestige of Karate-Do from all practising Karate Ka in England. Event schedule: All Kata competitors are to arrive by 8.30am for commencement of Kata events by 9.00am. Individual Kata will be the first events followed by Team Kata. Individual weigh-ins for all Kumite events will be available from 10.00am until 12Noon. All Peewee Kumite competitors may arrive a little later by 11.30am, for commencement at 1.00pm. Cadet & Snr Individual Kumite will commence from 2pm on all areas. Area maps, with running orders of events will be in the coach's pack and can be collected on the day from 9am onwards. Minimum age is 6yrs and above for all Kata and 7yrs and above for all Kumite. The Minimum grade is 6th Kyu. Please be aware 14yrs winning their events are permitted to train with the National Squad. Could all Associations/Clubs coaches be advised that the rules are based on WKF and will be applied in Senior & Cadet categories, Children's categories will have amendments which will be posted prior to the championships on the EKF web site.
