Young people are being encouraged to engage with the Met Police through an online survey.
The survey encourages feedback from students on areas that concern them such as their school journey or their local neighbourhoods.
The information will be used by local Safer Neighbourhoods teams who will work with the community and partners to find long-term solutions to the problems.
Acting Chief Superintendent Martin Stevens, Safer Neighbourhoods, said:
"Young people form a large and important part of our communities and the Safer Neighbourhoods teams are keen to engage with them to identify and put right their concerns. The neighbourhood-based results from the survey will be presented to local ward panels with a view to them adopting at least one of the concerns as a neighbourhood priority."
The survey, which takes just a few minutes to complete, will be live from Monday 5 February until 11pm on Sunday 18 February and can be found at http://www.met.police.uk/saferneighbourhoods .
Posters and leaflets publicising the project will also be displayed around schools. Dedicated schools officers and Safer Neighbourhoods teams are working with schools to incorporate the survey into lesson plans.
