Hi All,
This message from Glen is certainly worth circulating, though BEWARE as most "please forward" alert messages like this are usually hoaxes.
This premium-rate number was disabled in Dec 2005, though it is/was a real scam, and therefore people should
be wary of notes through the door like this asking you to ring an '09' number.
It's probably a good time to mention also that ICSTIS (the regulator) is rebranding to "PhonepayPlus".....
....Hmmmm.... Bit of a daft name, I think..... sounds like a name for an unscrupulous company that they're trying to protect us from!
You can check a premium rate number here......
Details of this scam......
Please also note that if you forward emails like this to several people, it's best to remove any personal
email addresses, not only from the "To: and "CC:" fields, but from the Body of the message itself,
as they are easily harvested by unsolicited bulk emailers (spammers).
[ TIP: You can move all your "To:" and "CC:" addresses to the "Bcc:" (Blind Carbon Copy) field ].
Best Rgds, Dave
