BROMLEY BOROUGH POLICE NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH INTELLIGENCE TASKINGS
Operation Endeavour
Bromley Police have launched the above initiative, to run for 8 weeks, to tackle burglary, robbery and motor vehicle crime.
There will be 40 dedicated officers deployed in various parts of the borough. Amongst other things, we will be increasing our levels of high visibility police on the streets, and targeting those we believe are involved in these crimes.
Theft from vehicles continues to be a problem, and once again we advise everyone not to leave anything on show in a vehicle. When removing your satellite navigation device, please take it AND the suction pad it affixes to, with you and then remove the mark this pad leaves. Take everything out of view, including jackets, no matter how old, as thieves will believe you are concealing something underneath it, and make their move.
Robbery, particularly youth on youth, as you may have heard on the national news yesterday, is on the increase. Over 50% of these incidents involve the theft of mobile _phones. Please make all young people you know, aware of their vulnerability, and advice them to always keep their mobile _phones out of sight.
Please remember to discard the packaging of any items you buy for your home, car or garden, carefully. Open large boxes flat and turn inside out before you leave them outside for the refuge collectors. Do not advertise to burglars the fact that you have just purchased something new!!!
Invitation: Public Consultation on the Policing Priorities 2007/10
We are pleased to invite you to participate in a process to help us set priorities for the Metropolitan Police Authority and Metropolitan Police Service. This consultation will help us develop the annual policing plan for 2007/08 and the Policing London Strategy 2007/10. We aim to obtain your views and opinions on all policing issues and give you the opportunity to influence the policing priorities that affect you.
Gathering the views of the public to find out what they want from their police service is a very important process for us, so this activity has become firmly established in our calendar. The consultation process has changed over time because of what people have told us, for example, on our website (http://www.met.police.uk/about/performance/consultation/) you can now see what people have told us in previous years consultation exercises. It also gives feedback on what we have done or are planning to do, at a Borough or Unit level, in response to the priorities people have identified.
This year_s consultation will take place between 10th April and
Session
Session
Session
To make the process more convenient for you and to allow you to see what other people are saying, we have designed the consultation to run online. This means you can conduct the exercise at any time of the day and without having to travel. If you prefer, we can, of course, provide you with paper copies of the consultation questions.
This consultation is open to the public, whether you live, work or study in London. You do not need to have a special interest in policing issues; we would simply like your views as a citizen or as a representative of a particular organisation or group. We would like people from all walks of life to participate _ so if you feel others might like to submit comments we would appreciate this letter and registration form being copied and distributed. If you would like help with this please contact Inspector Lee Padgett on 0207-230-4755 or by email at Lee.Padgett@....
To register to participate please use the attached registration form or go to http://www.met.police.uk/about/performance/consultation/, then click on the link in the section _Consulting London - have your say_.
Ten people randomly drawn from participants will be invited to attend New Scotland Yard in the summertime. They will be able to meet us, give us their views face to face, as well as being given a short tour.
We very much hope you will participate in the process and find its results stimulating. Thank you in advance for your contribution, which will help ensure that we make the best decisions for Londoners.
Yours sincerely
