BROMLEY BOROUGH POLICE NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH INTELLIGENCE TASKINGS

Operation Endeavour

This operation has now been running  for four weeks, we have actioned 23 search warrants at premises across the borough, resulting in 19 arrests.

Bromley police have recovered power tools, fishing tackle (estimated alone to be worth in excess of £5000), motor bike and car components, one satellite navigation system, one moped, one plazma screen TV, and a significant amount of drugs.

Since Operation Endeavour began we have seen a 29% drop in vehicle crime, this has been attributed not only to the large number of officers we have dedicated to this operation, but also to the number of high visibility policing which began with the introduction of Safer Neighbourhood teams at the beginning of April.

Burglary is down by 10%, no significant change in the incidents of robbery, except to say that the figures remain low on this borough as a whole.

This operation is targeting criminals responsible for robbery, burglary and vehicle crime across the borough.

The crime prevention advice remains the same, please do not leave anything on view inside your motor vehicle, remove satellite navigation systems, together with the suction pad, when you leave your vehicle unattended.

Leave it on show expect it to go!!

We make every effort, when we recover stolen property, to return it to it_s rightful owner, please consider marking your property.

Security marking your property couldn_t be simpler, just obtain a security marker pen from any good stationer, and write your postcode on an un-removable component of your valuables. (For example you might mark your mobile inside the well that the battery sits in.) This mark is invisible to the naked eye, but becomes visible when presented to a fluorescent light.

Safer Neighbourhood Panels

If you are interested in sitting on a SN panel, please contact your ward Sergeant. (Their contact details were included in this newsletter a couple of weeks ago).

The census data for Bromley,  shows that a significant number of our residents travel to other boroughs for work. If you are interested in being on a panel for the ward you work on, then please contact Nazan Djemal Nazan.DJEMAL2@...  . The panels should be made up of a diverse mix of the key stakeholders of a ward. Key stakeholders are residents, retailers, schools, businesses, places of worship, and commuters, to name but a few, all with very unique issues. We are committed to ward panels being representative of all the key stakeholders relevant to that ward.

If you do commute to another borough, and would like to contribute to the ward panel of the ward you work on, please e-mail your details to the e-mail address above and I will pass them on to the relevant Sergeant on the borough you work in.
