Re: [BromleyNWA] Newsletter

Dave,

I don't know about the Bromley newsletter.  The last one was printed some time ago and distributed across all Watches.  They were held in an old school in West Wickham but I think that had to be cleared.  I'm not sure if some members of the Committee have stored some in their homes or not.  Terry or John will know.

As for the London Secure Homes magazine, the same may be true for some of the original copies but there is a later version.  It is stored at SafeStore located at the junction of Woolwich Road and Anchor & Hope Lane in Charlton.  You just pop into reception and announce you are from London Neighbourhood Watch to collect some of their magazines.  Reception holds the key to the lock-up and will happily give it to you.  You drive round to the rear of the premises, access the lock-up which is on the 1st floor and load up as many as you want.  They are stored in boxes (I think it's 50 to a box) but each is really quite heavy.  I doubt you'd fit more than one on the back of a motorbike but you're welcome to as many as you want for free.  We have about 450,000 there but I did hear yesterday via a police officer from East London who'd gone to collect that SafeStore is threatening to destroy all remaining copies at the end of the month because the bill hasn't been paid.  This is outside of the realm of the London Neighbourhood Watch Association because printing and storage was supposedly being paid by our agents, The Media Group.  We have to tackle them on this because, naturally, we don't want to see 45K magazines up in smoke.

Regards,

Alf

Hi Alf,

Actually, come to think of it, both would be of interest  - I'd be happy
to collect them on my motorcycle if they're not too far, to save postage.

Thanks.

Best Rgds, Dave
