Hi Dave
Many years ago i worked on the David Frost tv show .One of the guests was a
retired burglar, and one of the tips he gave me. Was in order to foil the
use of thin credit card devices . insert nails or pins around the
lock, with just the heads showing. this will prevent the card sliding
around the lock and pushing the catch back in its housing.I am aware that
this can only be done on certain doors Hope this may be of some help

>Burglars entered a flat in Shortlands yesterday using a simple trick.
>They rang each doorbell and asked if Jane or if Bob was in.
>If anyone answered they would apologise saying that they had the wrong
>flat.
>As soon as they had no reply they use a credit sized plastic card to
>slip the lock and gain entry.
>The owners had not turned on their mortice lock as it was faulty.
>Jewellry was stolen.
>Always remember to double lock your door.
