Movement / Voice Improvisation by Candlelight

Drawing together different elements of improvisation, this workshop offers a dynamic, joyful and nurturing exploration of body and voice set in a beautiful candlelit studio. This is an invitation to move, play, release, explore, expand and exhale.

Amaara Raheem has been working as a performer and a writer for over ten years. Currently she teaches Performing Arts at North East Surrey College of Technology and works with an Action Theatre group toward Improvisation in Performance. Her ability to facilitate creativity, transformation and joy in beautiful settings is reflective of her training and ongoing studies with international teachers in Visual Art, Performance and Storymaking, Action Theatre, Contact Improvisation, Movement in the Landscape, Dance Therapy and Creative Writing

New Dance Improvisation Classes at movingartsbase
Tuesdays 6.30 – 8.00pm
The classes offer time and space for free improvisation.
We will dance on our own, with partners and with the whole group.
Our aim is to free the spirit through dance,
to enjoy expression through movement, to have fun, to learn.
We will have the opportunity to deepen body-awareness,
?To learn to relax, to open perception through all of our senses,
to listen to our bodies, to listen and respond to others and to the environment,
to allow to be led from deep within the self.
The classes draw from
