Closer opens two major dance events:
Sadler’s Wells Connect on March 20th and
Swindon Dance Move 4 Change on April 5th.
Using senses other than eyes, six dancers take flight aiming to bring the separate
Closer. Liberated from taboos of touch, they share a world where contact is the starting point of freedom and trust. Where hearing, smell and the ripple of breath energize the space between bodies to cross the distance held between people.
Touchdown’s visually impaired and sighted dancers reject rigid traditional choreography and improvise sections of fresh movement. Voice, video and a range of dance styles are combined to create widely accessible multi-sensory dance.
