ACTION THEATRE is a starting point for body-oriented theatre improvisation, which develops movement, vocal and language skills.
We will play with simple physical and vocal exercises which will challenge us to be present to our moment-by-moment experience. We will fine-tune our awareness of physical sensation, intuition and the imagination, explore the formal elements of space, shape and time and develop our performance skills: listening, relationship and composition.
Action Theatre encourages spontaneous expression, allowing students to uncover hidden personal material and gain insight into who they are. This course is suitable for dancers/actors wishing to develop their performance presence and anyone interested in discovering new forms of self-expression.

Kate has studied Action Theatre with Ruth Zaporah, who pioneered the form. She performs with MudLotus and teaches in London and Brighton, where she lives.
