Contact Improvisation Intensive

Kirstie Simson

The workshop will be a deepening exploration of Dance Improvisation, in which Kirstie will draw from her extensive knowledge of Contact Improvisation, the Japanese martial art Aikido and her extensive experience of Improvisation in performance. Building on simple physical principles and an investigation of ways to experience and understand our own bodies more profoundly, we will explore uninhibitedly the huge potential of the body's response to the primal urge to move.

Alongside Kirstie's workshop we are intending to run some addition events including an open jam and a film night. We hope also to make the most of the opportunity to relax on the beach!

Accommodation: We have arranged for camping nearby which will be £7 per person per night (bring your own tent!) Alternatively there is a wide range of local B&Bs. Please email for details.
 
Getting there: Newlyn is approx. 3 miles from Penzance. Trains run from London Paddington to Penzance. There are also flights from Gatwick to Plymouth (connect with train) or Newquay (coach). Please contact me and I will help sort out travel arrangements.
