Edinburgh Zoo’s newest exhibit – Humans!
Enclosure 44 - Humans sees performers inside an animal enclosure revealing an extraordinary display of movement and behavior exploring the nature of the animal within us all.
Based on Janis Claxton’s ongoing research at Edinburgh Zoo this unique performance event will involve 7 performers : ‘Human Animals’ Janis Claxton, Skye Reynolds, Vikky Stewart, Libby Charlton and Kirki Kyrkou will exist within the enclosure from 10am-5pm, all day for 11 days. They will be joined by ‘Zoo Keepers’ Angus Balbernie & Clive Andrews for feeding times (1pm daily) and The Human Animal Talk (3pm daily).
This site specific durational piece will evolve as each performer responds to this unique environment throughout the course of the day.
Dates: Tuesday August 5 – Saturday August 16 (no humans on display Monday 11)
Times: 10.00am – 5.00pm Feeding Time: 13.00-14.00 daily The Human Animal Talk: 15.00 daily
Cost: Normal Zoo admissions apply. £11.50 (£10) No need to book.
Tickets: Purchase tickets on entry to zoo. Admission includes all zoo exhibits.
Venue: Edinburgh Zoo Corstorphine Road Edinburgh 10 minutes by car/bus from Princess Street. Buses 12, 26, & 31 run every 5 mins or less.

Exploring the animal dynamism between pelvic and peripheral initiation, the joys of momentum, and the dynamics of rhythmic clarity, we will move in and out of the floor and enjoy luscious dancing together!
