Dear dancing friends,
We invite you to join us this fall for some amazing contact improvisation events at Earthdance. Additionally, there are several exciting opportunities to live and work at Earthdance. We hope you'll be able to join us.
Fall 2008 Events:
October 23-26: Falling Leaves Jam - A three day contact improvisation gathering at the height of autumn in New England.
Sweetness embodied – dance, play and connect against a backdrop of cool nights and warm, golden days. As with our other jams, those who show up employ improvisation to design a yummy, full weekend of classes, performances and open jam times.
If you're new to Earthdance or an old friend, please come join us... All levels of experience welcome.
For information about costs, and to register, visit http://earthdance.net/programs/falljam08.htm.
November 13-16: Two workshops, with Jeff Bliss and Martin Keogh
Gravity Tastes Like Honey with Jeff Bliss - A workshop for those new to Contact Improvisation or others who want to return to the beginning.
So if we evolved from the primates and have 360 degrees of possibility in our bodies, why are we living in a world of using only 120 degrees of it? Come to this workshop and open that up. This is an opportunity to expand our range of confidence as movers, to explore our play with gravity in our own bodies and with others, and to get rigorous about our exploration of movement and contact improvisation. This workshop is an opportunity for those new to contact to learn the form and for more experienced dancers to re-explore fundamental questions.
For information, and to register, visit http://earthdance.net/programs/gravity08.htm. Register by October 1st and receive a $25 discount!
The Jewel in the Fold: Advanced Contact Improvisation with Martin Keogh - In this intensive workshop we will seek the range of possibilities and veiled power inherent in the creases of the joints as we investigate an instinctual, reflexive style of contact improvisation.
With games, some sweat, and the unique physicality of the contact body we will savor and rock the boundaries between states of allowing and mindful intention.

December 30-January 4: Earthdance's New Year's Jam - a five-day contact improvisation gathering.
A dynamic and rich way to ring in the New Year. Bright winter stars, blazing New Year's Eve bonfire, steamy dancing in the umbrella barn overlooking a snow-filled meadow. This is a 5 day contact improvisation gathering. Come ready to dance and play.
The Jam is usually full by Thanksgiving, so please register early at http://earthdance.net/programs/nyjam08.htm
