Moving Acoustics - 16 hour Intensive for all levels with Tal Avni (from Israel) in AREA Dance School (Barcelona).
The Art of Contact Improvisation contains information from long ago in history, the time of warriors and a deep connection with nature. My work is an investigation of how to explore and how to learn with a close relationship to breathing, enabling us to live the dance and dance the life. Using elements such as: Direction, resistance, release, weight shifting, martial arts, playfulness… to help us develop our listening and presence.
Aristotle (384-322 BC) understood that sound consisted of contractions and expansions of the air "falling upon and striking the air which is next to it...".A very good expression of the nature of wave motion and our relationship with the world around us.

Tal Avni (1973 Tel Aviv, Israel) - Tal grew up practicing kempo-jitsu with Master Alex Kerten, instigator of movement, music and the autonomic nervous system (therapy/healing). He played for the Israel National Water Polo team for 15 years, studied History and Jewish Philosophy at Tel-Aviv University, studied the modern circus and trained as a clown at the “Florentine Circus”. Then continued to dance in “Adama” the Liat Dror and Nir Ben-Gal Company for three years where he was introduced to contact improvisation. Afterwards Tal traveled around the world meeting contact improvisation teachers like Kirstie Simson, Nancy Stark Smith, Martin Keogh, Nita Little, Karl Frost, Steve Paxton, Daniel Lepkoff, Julian Hamilton, Ray Chung, Ohad Nahrin, …the sea, his dogs, the trees, butterflies, nylon bags …. his mother. Tal is teaching CI in Israel, Poland, Brazil, Romania.
