Just a quick note to say that we've had our first visit to the BCN.
Admittedly only the new main line from Addersley to Sherbourne Wharf
and it was in the pouring driving rain for all of it. It was totally
fascinating. I wish we had more time to stop and explore Galton Valley
in particular. If we had more time we would have taken the less direct
route but 16 days boating saw us having to tackle a 270 mile and 260
locks route to get back to our home mooring in time for work with a
crew of just 2. We are now planning our next visit and are looking
forward to our next opportunity for exploration. I was particularly
interested in the remains of the canal/rail transhipment dock. Hope
this can be preserved. Keep up the good work everyone on this list.
