Dear All
I am currently carrying out a heritage audit of Rushall Locks 2, 3 and
4. The purpose of this study is to inform and guide the specifications
for future restoration works to the three locks which will be taking
place later on this year.
It would be very helpful to know if anyone can provide historical
information about the Rushall Lock flight, in particular locks 2, 3
and 4. I am particularly interested in original paddle gearing and
quadrant design. Also, I am trying to locate the quarry which supplied
the stone, as well as the local brick-works.
This research will contribute to the design of the restoration works
and could ultimately provide the opportunity to possibly reinstate
lost heritage features. Therefore, I would appreciate any information
which is available on this subject.
