On the subject of Tugs, T & S Element installed a large water tank
holding 700 gallons in the fore end of one of their tugs.Coupled to the
engine they thought it would eliminate water feed problems. On its first
trip it arrived at Anglesey boiling the water furiously away. They
couldn't risk towing a train of laden boats back and the experiment was
abandoned. Les Allen told me this tale. Max
